I had to quit my job because my 31-year-old coworker wouldn’t stop being creepy towards me

I genuinely need to rant about this because I’m so angry that I’m the one who ended up having to quit my job because of someone else’s behaviour.

I’m 18 and I worked with a 31-year-old man. He knew exactly how old I was. It was also only me and him working from around 5–8pm, so we were completely alone together for most of the shift.

He kept asking me to go out for drinks with him and would ask me to go and get drunk with him. I never actually went out with him and nothing ever happened between us.

He would constantly tell me how beautiful I was and say I was “not like other women.” He even told me that he had “eye candy” at work now and told me not to bend over near him.

At one point he told me he wanted to “be honest” with me and confessed that he had a 5-month-old son, like I cared or like we were in some sort of relationship where he needed to confess that to me.

He would also constantly mention other women. If he asked what I was doing and I said I was going out with friends, he’d suddenly tell me he had a date or was going out with another woman. It genuinely felt like he was trying to make me jealous and I literally did not care.

Then one day he randomly told me that he wanted to fuck me. That was when I became seriously uncomfortable, especially because I knew I was expected to keep spending hours alone with him at work.

I told him directly that I didn’t see a relationship or even a friendship forming between us and basically stopped talking to him. I started getting to work earlier so I could avoid him as much as possible, and when we were there together I’d just work in silence.

He then told me that he felt “lost without me” and that he missed me more than he thought he would. We were literally never together?? I never even went on a date with him.

I told my boss what was happening, but nothing was really done about it. I’m going to university soon and I wanted to save as much money as possible beforehand, but in the end I became uncomfortable enough that I quit.

That’s what pisses me off the most. Why did I have to leave and lose money because of his behaviour? Why wasn’t it the 31-year-old man making sexual comments towards his 18-year-old coworker who had to go?

I know I’m legally an adult, but that doesn’t make this any less creepy to me. I literally just wanted to go to work, make my money and go home.
