Non-trad with BS in Public Health completing prerequisites online — UNE, ASU, or other programs? Texas med school goals
Hey r/medschool! I’m a non-traditional pre-med with a BS in Public Health currently completing my science prerequisites (Orgo, Physics, Biochemistry, A&P) while working full time. I’m based in Texas and targeting Texas MD/DO programs (UH Fertitta, McGovern, TCOM, UTMB) but open to any US school. I’ve been researching online options like UNE Online and ASU since I need flexibility. From what I’ve found most Texas schools accept online prerequisites from regionally accredited institutions but I want to hear from people who’ve actually done it. Questions: ∙ Has anyone used UNE Online or ASU prerequisites for US med school applications? ∙ Did schools push back on virtual labs? ∙ Any other online post-bacc programs worth considering? ∙ Did online prerequisites hurt your application? Appreciate any real experience from non-trads who’ve navigated this. Thanks!
