I understand the fact that people have the right to celebrate festivals, pray to any god they like and not have to hide it in shame. But recently I've noticed that people often go out on the roads playing loud spiritual music screaming random shit and blocking the roads. Like guys, I just wake up one day expecting to go to work and then some random rich guy or some community decides to have some private ritual or celebration where they go around Mangalore blocking the roads with a big ass truck carrying dancers, statues and whatnot. I don't care if your wife finally gave birth to a healthy son or if you're daughter won the tata steel chess tournament. I just want to get to my destination on time and you people are just blocking the road in the name of your stupid celebration. Keep your celebrations private, behind closed doors. Or at least make sure that your not causing a hindrance to other people out on the road who are just on their daily commute.

This is completely different from traffic because all the vehicles in a traffic jam have a destination which they aim to reach in a specific time interval. Naturally, jams will occur. But why tf are you contributing to those jams with giant speakers, fancy costumes and a long line of half-naked dancers.

For those who might take offence to this, please keep in mind that I'm not targeting culture, I just want people to be more considerate and value the time of others. Most roads in Mangalore are built and owned by the government. This means that everybody has equal access to them. If you block them with your stupid celebrations, you are throttling access.
