Hey everyone 19 Y/O male here, I want to ask you all a question, you see I live in chile (so sorry if my English is not perfect) and even though my country is a lot more lgbt friendly my sector is not (catholic, conservative) so I go to a very conservative university, recently, one of my best friends (that also goes there) just came out as lesbian, and she was scared as shit to do it, when she did I saw terror in her face, I’m not going to lie to you I kinda knew since we were kids but when I was a kid I kinda convinced myself that I was wrong (cuz I was brainwashed since like I said I was raised in a very conservative way so I was homophobic) now I’m trying to be better, and of course I’m not perfect doing it, but I think it was not enough cuz after my friend came out she swore I would not be supportive about it and I don’t want my friend, basically a sister to me, to be ashamed and scared to be herself, I want to ask you ways to show my support even though I have a little bit of trouble showing her that, what would you all liked to be showed support when you first came out, what you wouldn’t like, and thank you for reading this and helping me be better.
