Niche ideas I want in Genshin
I love Genshin impact as a game while also being aware of its many flaws. However, since people voice the most important flaws far more often, I thought today I'd make a post about small things I want in Genshin that would improve my experience a lot as someone whose favorite aspect of the game is its characters and their interactions. Sometimes I mention these in surveys, but I don't think many people request these things, so I doubt they'd get added IF they read surveys at all. So I want to share my thoughts here.
More events like the 6.4 main event. This event had a large cast of characters appearing, even from other nations so we got to see many of our favorite characters and also them interacting together and even meeting characters from other regions (such as Clorinde and Eula). The discrepancies event and the drinks mixing also added to this which I loved. I think we could've had even more, but it was a good baseline for me. Unlike the 6.5 where very few characters appeared and though we had interesting interactions, I saw many missed opportunities, such as the fact that they used npcs for the booths and the mini quests instead of more characters. I know some people prefer shorter stories, but this could be resolved by making the extra interactions optional like in the discrepancies event where you didn't HAVE to talk to every character.
More characters appearing in minor events. Yes, even when it's not a main event, I would be so happy if we had characters for the opening quests and afterword quests for smaller events instead of just npcs. It's a small way to give players more time with their favorite characters especially if those characters don't appear much in quests even if the quest itself is very small. With characters being so many, someone could go a long time without seeing any new content with their favorite character. I think this can help the issue a little.
Character interactions in teapot and also more dialogues. I still go to see my characters in the teapot and I'm sad that they don't have more dialogue options. It would be fun if they had a bunch of possible dialogue options you could get at random every day instead of just 3. Even just a few more would be greatly appreciated. Also, having characters that have voice lines about each other be able to have special interactions together would be so fun.
Voice lines being updated after archon quests. Some voice lines have changed in the past but there are often times where characters make new friendships, yet they don't have a voice line about each other. Take Albedo and Wanderer in Nod krai for example. Wanderer considers Albedo someone he can trust now which is rare for him, so I believe he should have a voice line about Albedo.
More expressions in the camera and every character having every option. In the camera if you're not aware, you can change a character's expression. However, there's only two options and they're different for every character. I think they should add more expressions and also make every expression available for every character.
Birthdays can be improved. I love the little mail they send us, but I would love it if characters had a special dialogue in the teapot for their birthday or even an optional mini quest that doesn't even give primos, just for people who want to celebrate their favorite character. Characters could also have a special dialogue for the traveler's birthday separate from their voice line. For the traveler's birthday (our birthday), it would be cute if we could choose one character to receive a birthday letter from. Project sekai has a whole banner for each character's birthday that gets updated every year with a new card and a special concert show. I just want character birthdays to feel a little more special.
Hangouts for 5 stars. Now they've dropped the hangouts for the 4 stars too but personally, i really liked them. We got to see characters in their daily lives and I would love to do the same with 5 stars since their story quests usually aren't so casual. Also, the images we get at the end of hangouts are so cool, I need them with 5 stars!!
I don't think they will add any of these besides maybe number 1. Anecdotes were one of my favorite additions to the game, but unfortunately they're updated kinda slow in my opinion. There are at best 1-2 anecdotes for characters that I actually care about combined. Still, maybe they plan on expanding on character interactions with this.
