went out last weekend, finally treated myself to a decent dinner. get the bill and theres a 4.5% "kitchen appreciation charge" just sitting there at the bottom. not on the menu, not on the website, not mentioned by the server at any point

like i get it, cost of living is rough for everyone but just build it into your prices?? at least tell me before i order so i can decide if i want to eat here or not. the sneakiness of it is what gets me

and its always worded so passive aggressively too like if you remove it youre personally spitting in the cooks face. i didnt make up your staffing model my guy

anyway tipped normally and left, wont be going back. was supposed to be a nice night out since i had some extra money laying around, ended up just being annoyed the whole ride home
