Obviously I don't plan to pass them off as being my own, but just as an exercise in writing

so my dad has this CD that was given to him by my mom’s late father, years back

and it’s been sitting on some metal that rusted over time

and some of the rust made it onto the CD

i get that it may be unsalvageable but if we can save it, I think my dad would appreciate it
