In temporary grow bags until I get them in a large container or raised bed. I got three kinds last year from Holland Bulb Farms. I believe as bare root. I can't remember which one is which. It is either Sarah Bernhardt, Karl Rosenfield or Shirley Temple. I had them in the ground for several weeks last year, but they struggled and I just assumed then it was because of a Walnut tree that is close by. I'm a renter and my yard is tiny so most of my flowers are close to the walnut tree. Shade from the tree is not an issue. They all get plenty of sunlight. The walnut tree itself isn't very healthy and didn't even produce a single nut last year. Since moving here last year, I noticed many of my flowers struggling or just dying. I have never had this problem before and I'm 50yrs old. I always assumed it was because of the juglone. Now I'm wondering if something worse is going on. Anyhow, I put them in the grow bags because they were what I had on hand at the time. Right now this is the only one showing symptoms of the three peonies. However, if it is what I think it is, I'm sure the others are not far behind because they were sitting rather close to one another, but not touching. I'm so friggen sad. They were seriously on the brink of death last year and I nursed them all back to health, like little babies. Let alone the fact I adore peonies and gosh darn it I just want at least one stinkin bloom! Thanks for any and all help in advance. ✌️💜&😊 to all!
