First (and only) peony bloom!

I planted tubers in the fall and didn’t expect anything this year so getting this singular beautiful bloom makes me so happy :) Any advice on how to prep my plants this fall for hopefully more blooms next spring would be greatly appreciated! Zone 4a

Why did mine end up like this?

They didn't bloom when my other peonies popped. So they ended up being kind of fried out looking.

These beauties now live rent free in my mind’s eye! I’m so thankful for my local botanical garden!

Peony "Akashigata " establish in 1893 , Itoh-latiflora group

this is one of the oldest cultivator peonies in the peonies world , usually herbaceous peony is called " latiflora " this is an old variety attempted to hybrid woody peony and herbaceous peony , this is a group called I antiflora. so if you search the name " Akashigata" mostly are tree peony , but this is a herbaceous one , it has the unique feather the golden stamen of the flower , and has a upright strong stem , but you wont see this peony now in the market , because they are not as popular like the itoh , and as the intersection peony , the padel and the size of the flower are not as fancy , but still a very pretty , unique form of peony .

Crushed Peony Roots

Last winter we had some trees removed (insurance requirements), and that required very heavy equipment. They spent 4 days driving over the front yard and our flower beds. I had one extremely healthy peony that after three decades had grown to over a meter wide. Thankfully, this spring, almost all of my landscaping came back. The half of the peony plant that had been repeatedly run over lived. However, as you can see it is only half the height of the uncrushed right half. In the past, this area would have had 50++ large blooms but it got none in this recovery year. I hope it's more back to normal next year.

Help me!

Hello everyone!

My wife and I have been getting into gardening over the last two years. Last year we mainly focused on hanging plants, however this year we decided to try out creating a flower bed. We planted this peony that we had in a pot last year and over the course of the last month it has been slowly dying. I think the PH in the soil is ok it’s sitting at just below 7. Can someone confirm if this might be caused due to watering, whether it’s too much or too little; or if it’s something else entirely? I’m still learning about gardening rules for flower beds so any advice would be amazing!
