Best way to cleanly cleanly switch Desktop environments?

I've been using cachy for about a month now with niri + dms shell, its been great but i want to try out mango + noctalia shell.

I understand that i can just install a different de/wm through the package manager and switch from the login screen, but it seems like a nightmare to sort out all the configs, for a relatively clean/ easy to switch between de install.

I initially set up cachyos with hyprland, and when switching to niri, I decided to just to a clean reinstall (which was fine at the time since I didn't allocate enough space to root, and wanted to commit to cachy to my whole ssd), but i now I dont want to reinstall the whole OS just to switch window managers.

Even with the initial niri install (I selected niri as the DE during setup, but also chose KDE in the additional packages just in case something broke), I still have some weirdness, like it still having both "kde system settings" and "system settings" (also the same kde settings app) and using them for like half of the settings like bluetooth, wifi. instead of using the dms settings.

supergfx ctl alternative?

I have a 2020 zephyrus g14 with 2060 and ryzen 9, following the asus linux guide for setting up arch (cachyOS, in my case) the section about supergfxctl says its been discontinued and its unadvised to use, but doesnt provide alternatives.

Running without it is fine for the most part, but on reboot if i have my charger plugged during the cachyos boot (after bootloader) it just goes into black screen where i cant even access TTY with any of the f keys (before i discovered the root of the problem, spamming f1-4 during the cachy load screen brought me to tty and straight into login screen like 50% of the time).

Edit: i dont think i explained the paragraph above great, after finding out that the charger being plugged in was the problem, I tried installing and setting up supergfxctl and the problem went away completely.

honestly im not 100% sure what supergfxctl does, doesnt prime-run achieve the same thing? (obviously wouldnt fix my boot on charger problem still)

I have a Zephyrus g14 2020, Ryzen 9, RTX 2060.

Initially when I got this laptop, in windows the fans went up to 7800rpm in the stock controls and g-helper.

On cachy I'm getting like 5200 max even when manually setting them to 100% with rog control centre
