Dorm acceptance email - question from a parent
After pestering my kid a few times, he finally checked his email to see if he received any freshman year dorm acceptance emails. I know housing is not guaranteed, so have been biting my nails the past few weeks since we live up in the Bay Area and securing housing from here is not exactly easy (7 hour commute to visit off-campus places). He said he "got in" but that the email didn't say which dorm (Parkside or Beachside). When do decisions about dorm assignments go out? And where/when should he be trying to find a roommate? Some sources say Instagram to find roommates, others say Discord, but is there a more official source? Sorry, I know I sound like an anxiety-ridden mom, which is true, but I also don't want to keep pressuring him with dorm questions since he's already stressed out about finals and sad that his best friends (whom he has known since elementary school) are moving across the country to other colleges.
