DIY repair
Long story short had a fender bender and body shop estimated 12k+ for repairs. Insurance used non comp cars to drop my value to total it out. I declined and paid an independent estimator for arbitration.
He agreed that it was an easy fix. I got a check from insurance made out to me, I ordered parts online and sourced a couple from salvage yards that were correct color code. I got it done for under 2500, not perfect ( fender needs to be replaced again or re painted due to scratches) but 99% of the way there.
That fender btw wasn’t damaged in the accident but by the body shop that spiked the price in the first
