For those who had him. How is he and his teaching style?

I'm a CS student at GMU and I just found out I might fail a class even though my overall grade is 76%. The class has a special rule where you need a 65% combined exam average to pass — I got 59%. My projects are at 100%, recitations 100%, participation 100%. I already emailed my professor before the grade deadline today. Has anyone been in this situation before? Did your professor ever make an exception? What are my options?
