Anyone else wind up doing just about every job in the building?
Full time article 22.3 here with 19 years of service. This is for anyone who works inside whether part time or full time. Our building was automated about a year and some months ago and relaunched in April 2026. Since coming back on I've been primarily on irreg sweeps and irregs/recycles daily.
However, before that I would almost go anywhere I was asked to go: I've unloaded, loaded (both trailers and package cars) was a pick off on a PD, spa, small sort (though not often asked to go there) etc.
The only place I haven't been is QC/clerk or tender. The tender spot looks like it sucks, I wouldn't mind QC but I've never had it as a daily assignment. I wish I could bid a preferred work area but my local has not established it as a past practice.
What is your normal day and how is it at your building? I know when they had me loading package cars during peak it wasn't enjoyable but I had a good group of people around me that made it tolerable.
