Our beautiful, gentle sweetheart went through some seasonal “troubles”, so desperate to find a lady, he forced his very heavy habitat lid open and it unfortunately crushed his tail on his way out.
Luckily he remained in high spirits for about a week and the vet said we can wait and see if it heals on its own. But as of a couple days ago, he slowed down significantly and, as you can see from the photos, the tail appears to be a loss.

Please wish him well on his surgery, I’m so sad he’s going to lose it, but hopeful for a long healthy life. He’s 16 years old!
