Is it safe to use an old laptop as a server, and keep it constantly plugged in?
I have an old laptop that doesn't hold charge well, so I would like to repurpose it as a light home server. The easiest thing for me to do would be to just keep it plugged in and on a shelf hidden away some where, but I feel like I remember that pulling charge and charging at the same time can lead to dendrite formation and potentially violent failure in a Lithium ion battery. I was hoping this sub could let me know how much of a concern this should be. I am open to suggestions on alternative set ups.
