First seasoning issues

First seasoning issues

Apologies If this is a common post but I thought I’d ask. I went to season my first skillet today and I ended up putting about 3 tablespoons of oil in the pan (due to a video I watched saying to do so) and let it sit in the pan while it heated. The black spot started to form as the pan heated up but it was only in the areas the oil was not. (My stove seems to be uneven so the oil was pooling) interestingly the black bits only occurred where the oil was lightest.

Any recommendations on evening this out or perhaps starting from scratch? If I wanted to start from scratch, how do I get the metal back to its origami color, pre seasoning?

NKD

Finally got my hands on one! Picked one up when BHQ had them in stock. Definitely didn’t need a new knife rn but couldn’t pass it up.

Anyone know the process for fire evacuations?

Noticed there is a vegetation fire about 1/4 mile away from my town house on Monterey road near Bernal. SJFD tweeted the fire but I don’t know the severity of it and my wife is concerned. Does anyone know what the process to announce evacuations would be if it came to that?

Recommendations for Rollerball

Hi, sorry for the question that I’m sure has been asked but I am looking for a capped rollerball pen that is fairly thick. My dad growing up had a waterman pen in green that I always loved to look at. Is waterman a good brand to go with? Are there others I should consider? Budget is between 100 and 150 dollars initially.

Setup of mobile AV network

Hi all, I am curious to see if what I am attempting to setup will work with some inherited equipment. I apologize in advance for my naïveté regarding this network. I have been handling everything with simple unmanaged switches and a GLINET travel router.

I am looking to setup a mobile AV network using an inherited net gear M4250 8 port switch along with some unmanaged 8 port net gear switches.

We need to run the following:

VLAN1: 3 POE birddog ultra x4 cameras and ptz controller. As well as an ATEM constellation 2 ME, 6 hyper deck recorders.

VLAN2: Dante network with a Yamaha DM3, Tio stage box and 5-6 AVIO adapters for user machines.

VLAN3: connect to the internet and allow traffic for our wireless devices.

I would like to be able to connect my iPad/computer to control both the bird dog cameras on VLAN1 as well as the Audio equipment on VLAN2 while connecting my device to the internet on VLAN3. I use companion for control and would like to utilize that for everything.

If it won’t cause issues there is no reason I can’t combine VLAN1 and VLAN2 from a security standpoint. I’m just not sure if running a control network and a Dante network on the same VLAN is the best idea.

Any tips, suggestions or discussion is very much appreciated! I am opening to learning what I can and look forward to any assistance offered!

Facebook Live audio monitoring via browser?

Hi, I am regularly asked to stream to Facebook live for a local govt agency. I am required to use the browser version because my ISO department won’t allow an encoder onto the network. While I know we can use OBS, I am regularly only allowed to login to the page until 5 minutes before showtime so the browser has the least headaches.

I am using an ATEM setup with a Yamaha DM3. My audio and video routing is fine, I just want the piece of mind that my audio levels are still fine once start the stream but FB has no Indication of audio once you hit go live. Anyone have a good suggestion or is this just a case of Facebook being a terrible live streaming platform?
