I’ve applied to maybe 1000 jobs since November. I’ve only gotten 2 interviews and both turned me down. Please excuse the formatting. It looks better on a computer, I stumbled across this Reddit thread and just uploaded screenshots of my resume.

Any ideas why I can’t get an interview

I’ve been applying to jobs and internships and have been going to career fairs nonstop since last November. I’ve put in thousands of applications across 6 different states and 3 different countries. I’ve had 2 interviews. One said no without a reason and the other told me I would be better suited for construction work.

HISA Grant

I read online that if someone is a veteran and has a disability that wasn’t caused in service they could still be eligible for this grant. Has anyone had success with this? My dad had a stroke (left side paralysis), is in a wheelchair, just got diagnosed with cancer and possibly chf. I’m having a hard time getting him in and out of the house. I have 3 steps on my porch. Someone said I could use this grant to possibly put towards getting a ramp installed. Just looking for some guidance.

Pact act

Hey all. So my dad is 67 and suffered from a stroke a few years ago. He was doing a routine check up and they sent us to get a chest ct based off of what he told them in the appointment. The ct looks like he may have cancer. His lungs have a bunch of nodules and some scarring.

I didn’t even know my dad was eligible for Va care until recently. He was stationed in TX from 76-79. He didn’t deploy but did work with a lot of chemicals and buildings that had asbestos (and mustard gas according to him).

Someone I know told me to apply for Va benefits and have him do the Pact act questionnaire. My question is what exactly does that do for him? Can they prove that these nodules are from the asbestos from that many years ago? Is he even eligible to use the Va if he didn’t get hurt while he was in?

Student loans after discharge

Has anyone that’s P&T taken out new student loans? Are you allowed? I know they won’t pay them off a second time. I didn’t even realize they would pay them the first time until I got the discharge letter in the mail. I’m trying to get my masters and I only have 4 months of GI bill left and I used my VRE for my bachelors.
