So I know it is highly unlikely someone here is near me and will see this. I am honestly not sure if this is the subreddit to post this stuff on. This is just an appreciation post and a shout out to the humane society and the people there. I have also included information on how to get in contact with them and ways anyone can help; whether donations or volunteering. If this post isn't allowed here, is there somewhere else I can post this?
ETA: Thank you to whoever gave me the pink heart award. I had to Google what that meant and it brings me so much joy that I was able to make that person feel that strongly, that they chose an award. I don't really know how awards work or what the majority of them mean (I now know 2). According to Google (this makes me feel old as dirt and I'm actually not, thank you guys for making me feel old!), people have to spend real money to get them, and I do not need that. Just knowing that you all are able to see this makes me happy, I don't need the awards. Thank you again to the person who gave that to my post!
I came in on Saturday so I could see Aslan. A beautiful kitten inside and out. I want to personally thank you all for taking such good care of him before I could bring him home. Having him be home with me is such a blessing, and I'm am so proud, grateful, and full of appreciation for you all. Thank you for everything you are doing; you are raising other people's babies, before they even meet. You are wonderful people, making sure my baby was safe before I knew him.
I am sure the Jefferson County Humane Society will accept all forms of donations; dog supplies and toys, cat supplies and toys; and all of the other things their small animals will need. If you can't donate funds, please try to donate food of all kinds and ages, dog/cat beds, blankets, toys, and cat litter/poop bags for the beautiful dogs they have. Any form of donation and volunteer work will help not only the load the people working there, but help the animals who need people in their corner. If there is any way you can give back, but your not sure how, please call them to see how you can give back, and find out how the physical donations work and what they need.
If you all would like their contact information please ask in the comments and I will try to make that information available for everyone to see since I cannot include here. Also, thank you mods for helping me learn how to post this here. I'm unsure of which flair to use, so I hope I chose the right one.
They are beautiful people doing beautiful work.
He is almost 4 months old and those marks on his nose are not from mange, an injury, or fleas. He had those at 7 weeks old when the humane society first got him. You guys are the first Internet strangers to see him (the photos of him slumped from a great nap on my bed)!
UPDATE: He's letting me pick him up and hold him for a little bit!!!!! He is such a sweet boy 🧡

I have tinder and I found what I think is her bf. I don't have any confirmation about if the dude is her bf. But in any case, how do I tell her? I *am* going to tell her, I just don't know how to bring it up. Also, yesterday was her birthday so I want to tell her about this development, if it is her bf, asap, but I also want to not tell her the day after her birthday and ruin that for her. From what I've heard they're in a really good spot and he treats her well, which is a very good change of pace. I just don't know how/when to tell her, if it actually is her bf. Any advice??
Uncrustables still have crust, it's just not brown. Yes I'm a grown woman, yes I've had this opinion since I was a kid, and no you can't change my mind. Since I was a kid I've always pulled the crust off of my uncrustables. I would rather eat the regular looking brown crust than the bs that's on these lies of a "sandwich".
Update: why are so many people agreeing with me??? Every time I say this at home, my family gangs up on me about what crust technically is. Thank you for agreeing with me!! Now I know I'm not going insane lol
