I had a university friend from Gilgit Baltistan who used to live in a hostel here in Lahore. No matter what we were doing, he always said one thing:

'I miss my mother so much, I wanna go back to my hometown'

After graduation, he finally went back home. But only 3 or 4 months later, his mother passed away.

For a week I couldn’t contact him, then I saw his brother’s status and found out. Honestly, it hurt me too. Later he told me how during winters he would go to her grave, make prayer and cry for hours. He still misses her badly.

Seeing him like this made me realize how important mothers are in our lives. We get so busy with life that sometimes we forget to value them while they’re still with us.

Please spend time with your parents, especially your mother. One day you may wish for just one more conversation with her.
