Hey, I’m looking for some advice/reassurance because I’m honestly spiralling a bit.

A couple months ago I had really severe pain in one upper tooth that suddenly stopped, so I’m worried the nerve may have died. Since then I’ve had this raised/swollen area high up above the tooth, more in the soft lining/vestibule above the gum rather than directly on the tooth itself. It’s localized to one side and feels like a soft bump/fullness. I can notice it more now when smiling or moving my cheek.

I don’t really have other symptoms:

no fever

no major facial swelling

no trouble swallowing/breathing

no severe ongoing pain

It’s just been lingering for weeks and I’m getting more and more worried.

I also have severe agoraphobia and I’m basically housebound, plus I don’t have much money, so going to a dentist feels extremely overwhelming right now.

Does this sound more like chronic gum irritation/inflammation or could a tooth infection stay localized like this for a while? Mostly just looking for honest opinions/reassurance from people who’ve experienced similar things.
