Is my bf’s dog dying?
hi everybody. i have been a cat person my whole life, so i really have no idea what goes on with dogs’ behaviors and heath issues. any advice on my boyfriend’s situation would be appreciated.
for background context, my boyfriend’s senior golden retriever has been sweet since i’ve known it for the past couple of years, but he’s had aggression problems before. as a puppy, he was abused badly by a group of women, and he would struggle with snapping at people and biting them. however, he hadn’t bit anybody for 5 years or so until yesterday.
last night, he randomly bit a stranger, and now he is vomiting as well as pooping out blood. he is also growling and snapping at my boyfriend- just extremely out of character for this dog. he is up to date on vaccinations, and he is drinking water and playing some with his toys. my boyfriend can’t really afford a vet appointment, and he’s not sure if his dog is seriously (fatally) ill, or if something else is going on (like being triggered by previous smells or something?). i’m sorry that i can’t give more information and that i seem very ill-informed, i just genuinely have zero to no experience with dogs. any advice or potential diagnoses (even though a vet appt is definitely needed somehow someway) would be appreciated. thank you :’)
