I stopped being interested and distrusful of the MBTI system due to unpleasant experiences on discord comunities when i was a teenager. Has anybody had similar experiences?
Hey everyone so im an xNTJ male early 20s, im fully confident by my deep research im either an Ni-Te or Te-Ni person just not entirely sure yet. So basically when i discovered about my personality type i was 16 and i was deeply engaged to understand myself for a better path of self-mastery so i can achieve my goals and visions better, even though i was naive in a way and still very young and also unagreeable to people at that time, but still I was deeply disappointed by the people i meet there, and It seems many communities use MBTI as a 'Social Identity' rather than a tool for cognitive analysis and understanding which i believe its the true purpose of it. If you don't fit the 'internet stereotype' of your type, you are treated as an outcast and i found myself talking to people who claim to have the same MBTI as me but so little in common and so different values. Now i started researching more about it after +5 years of break before i was learning about other important topics to me, and i believe its a great tool for your mental understanding but so little to do when you meet many people. Has anyone experienced this situation? Do you believe Discord comunities are not something to be taken seriously if you wanna achieve an understand yourself? Because i believe the environments always turns out to be toxic there?
