Being called “not black” by another black man

Today I was at a party and it was me and another black man and he openly called me out for my mannerisms and the way I talk in front of everyone not black. I know this says everything about him and his closed-mindedness. But also it sucks hearing that from both sides especially from people that look like you. I’m too black for white people and too white for black people. It was a first time in a long time my identity as a black man was question and mocked to a degree by him and everyone else in the room. I just wish sometimes my blackness and my identity isn’t the first thing that the room sees but it probably won’t ever be.
