Turning my grandmother’s pieces into one ring
I inherited a few pieces from both of my grandmothers and I've been thinking about having a jeweler combine them into one ring instead of leaving everything sitting in separate boxes.
The problem is none of these pieces have receipts and some are really old. If I have a jeweler make one completely new ring using the pieces and stones from them, how would I insure it afterward?
Would an appraisal of the finished ring be enough or would I somehow need documentation for the original stones too? Would love to hear from anyone who's done something similar.
