Feeling pressured to take more ownership when I prefer being an individual contributor

My team leads have been expecting me to take more ownership, increase visibility, and go beyond assigned tasks. But honestly, I prefer being an individual contributor — focusing on my own tasks, delivering quality work, and growing technically rather than handling broader team responsibilities.

Is this a normal expectation in Deloitte? And if someone prefers staying an individual contributor, can that negatively affect performance reviews or growth later on ?

Hi everyone,

I noticed something unusual in my April salary. My income tax (TDS) wasn’t deducted at all this month, and I also checked my payslip — there’s no entry for income tax under deductions. Because of this, my in-hand salary was higher than usual.

I’m a bit confused about what this means.

Will this be adjusted in the coming months?

Will my employer deduct a higher amount later to compensate?

Or is there something I need to do from my end to avoid any issues?

Just want to make sure I don’t run into any problems later during filing or with tax dues.

Has anyone faced something similar?

Thanks in advance!
