Swlf or Self-ligating braces
For context, I’ve had braces before na (almost 10 years ago) and was not able to wear my retainers after. Nagkaroon ako ng TMJ disorder and have been wearing my splint for 4 months now.
Sabi ni Doc, pwede na daw ako magpakabit ng braces sa next visit ko. Binigyan nya ako ng option if want ko ng swlf or self-ligating braces. Wala naman akong sobrang sungki na ngipin pero meron lang konti sa lower teeth na crowding. Also, nagdevelop ako ng open bite sa posterior teeth ko dahil din sa splint pero nawala naman ung mga jaw locking etc.
Which one would be better kaya? Swlf (80k) or self ligating braces (100k)? Gusto ko sana nung mabilis na treatment since I am nearing 30s na and also since prone ako sa cavities.
Also, can I ask for a detailed treatment plan from my dentist? Meron na akong panoramic and cephalometric xray sa kanya and I thought bibigyan nya ko ng full treatment plan pero pinapili lang nya ako sa type ng braces na want ko ipakabit. Want ko sana malaman if may need ba ng extraction, TADS, etc. can this be requested sa dentist ko?
