Take care of your teeth folks

Take care of your teeth folks😭. Unfortunately this cost me a total of 16k (8k per teeth)🥶

💡Winning a client’s trust is worth more than making a quick profit. A loyal client who comes back again and again is far more valuable than taking advantage of someone just once.

Story time:

I was initially told that 1–2 teeth would cost ₱8,000. Since I had four missing teeth, I was expecting to have three replaced because the dentist initially told me that one molar was no longer necessary since it was at the very end. I agreed with that. However, when the denture was made, the dentist only included two teeth. When I asked why, she again told me that the other molar was not necessary because it was at the very end (aren’t dentists were supposed to encourage restoring as many missing teeth as possible). When I asked about the payment, she told me that I only needed to pay ₱8,000 instead of ₱16,000. But just as I was about to leave the clinic, I was suddenly told that I still had an ₱8,000 balance because their pricing was actually per arch. This was never explained to me at the beginning, and it was not indicated on the price list that was shown to me. I still paid the balance because I didn’t want to lose a face (as maranao we have this maratabat), but honestly, I left feeling confused, disappointed, and taken advantage of. Maybe I’m being petty by posting about this horrible experience (and since i cannot get my money back) but I believe clients deserve clear pricing and proper communication from the beginning. Neveeeer again babalik, neveeeeer would encourage my friends and family to go here.

Infected tooth

Hello! I just had my wisdom tooth removed yesterday and ang sakit sobra huhu kasi it was next sa infected tooth ko. I was unaware na infected siya. 🥲 Tho super bait ni Doc sa DIP and her assistant.

Question: Kapag ba pina root canal or bunot ko yung infected tooth masakit din tanggalin like sa wisdom tooth extraction? Kasi sobrang traumatizing yung experience. Thanks.

Note: Nakapag post na ako here regarding sa impacted wisdom, pero hindi yon yung inalis, may isa pa pala akong wisdom tooth. Ang na point out lang kasi sa xray and nung dentist ko is yung napost ko. SKL. TMI din. 😅

Current state of my teeth, 5 cavities. Please help :(

I see a really obvious cavity on my upper teeth and my both sides of my molars. Now, I’m not the most financially gifted person so it’s hard to do fix all of this a at once.

How much do you think I have to spend based on its state on the picture?

I know it’s different once you get an xray but it would be helpful to get a ballpark figure. I

also plan to do a general cleaning on my teeth.

braces progress + non important concerns

hello! please dont mind my dry lips, ive been struggling to keep them hydrated. that aside, the first pic is a month progress. so far, its still uncomfortable for me, di parin po ako nakakakagat kahit hatdog hahahah — not unless i use my molars which is fine pero minsan natatamaan inscisors ko which hurts like hell

now, my non-important concern. after my first adjustment, my front lower set moved a lot as seen in the progress pic. it kind of feels like i have a crossbite but im not too sure. what concerns me is how it looks when i close my mouth. unlike nung unang kabit sakin until the day of my adjustment, nakakasmile pa po ako without my mouth opening nor looking weird

as seen sa slides 2-3, may onting difference from before i got my braces vs 1 month on it. my lips look so bulky from the side and mukhang nakasimangot ako from the front. it also looks like i have a slight underbite which is bringing my confidence down a little. naiiyak nalang po ako out of frustration cause i dont know what to do but wait. will it change? im aware braces change a bit of your structure since your teeth are being put to place so im curious if its gonna get better as time goes

to add, my face is relaxed in the last slide. from the front, mukha akong tense but thats because i have to close my mouth with effort. it looks like nabring down din po facial features ko, parang nahila ganun. nahihirapan din po ako mag salita and pronounce my letters properly, nabubulol ako most of the time. im aware the purpose of the braces isnt for aesthetics but to fix your teeth, but its been affecting my confidence and id really like to hear opinions or facts if magbabago pa po structure ng lips ko and how itd look when closed

thank you and im so sorry for the long caption :)

Is my crossbite still worth fixing?

I already have a history of braces that somehow corrected my underbite but now, I think I have a crossbite. When I brought it up sa dentist ko, she told me mahirap na ulit galawin yung teeth since naka-center na midline ko. Aside from aesthetic reasons, I guess mainly discomfort rin minsan when chewing or speaking kasi naffeel ko talagang tumatabingi mouth ko. Is there any way to fix this without braces if ever? Ayaw ko na kasing magbraces ulit huhuhu

Help for wisdom tooth

Good Day! I went to my university dentist yesterday to get a check-up of my wisdom tooth as I saw na may cut sa gums ko and it was getting harder to eat.

After the check-up, I was advised to get a panoramic radiograph. The statement written on the request form was "Impacted 3rd Molar". I already did the x-ray today but classes for tomorrow is suspended and I don't have classes on wednesday so I'll only be able to follow up with my university clinic on thursday 😢. I was hoping to get some insights here on whether I needed oral surgery and how much it's going to cost (living in Manila, for reference). and what I can do in the meantime to alleviate some pain.

I was also advised to drink vitamin C, I'm currently drinking a water-soluble tablet that says it's 1000mg of Vit. C per tablet (Brand: Boots). After searching, it looks like it's a huge dose of Vit. C at once so I was planning on drinking it every other day.

Help is much appreciated, thank you so much!

do I need to get braces again po?

Hi po! I had braces before, but I lost my retainer, and my teeth have shifted. I was thinking of getting braces again, or would a retainer na lang po be enough?

I can taste my breath, but walang smell

I'm genuinely curious by this. I don't have bad breath most of the time (aside sa times na matagal na di kumakain or nagsasalita) BUT, madalas when I drink water, I taste something bad. Even after brushing my teeth. Wala namang amoy, but nalalasahan ko siya.

Is this normal ba?

Help

Dalawang dentista na nag check sa first molar ko kasi sumasakit, not always but frequent enough that I got worried. Both dentists said nothing’s wrong with it… true enough, wala talaga, coz when I went to this 3rd dentist, he advised an xray para makita kung ano talaga yung problema. Apparently, it’s my first premolar ang may cavity na umabot na sa root. Kaya pala yung first molar yung sumasakit dahil sa “referred tooth pain”— where the brain gets confused where the hurt is coming from. I forgot his explanation pero hindi daw root canal ang solution but extraction then implant. Huhu ang mahal!!! 120k. I’m really not asking for help, just want to see if mayron ba dito same case and went with implant. This stressed me out!!

Helpppp. Dental analysis needed!

So overall, I feel pretty good about my teeth. I have good oral hygiene and brush 2x/day and floss regularly. Might miss a day or two over the weekend but overall keep up with it. I will say I didn’t have the best oral routine growing up and really locked in around late high school/college (saying that now it feels kinda late lol) but better late than never I guess!

Anyways, my biggest issue is my bottom front tooth (specifically my left one, 24 I believe?). I’ve been experiencing discomfort, sensitivity, and when I move my mouth I can sometimes feel a pop there? It’s uncomfortable to bite into things, suck on a straw, etc. I definitely notice some gum loss in between the bottom teeth too - there’s that black triangle and feels deep/loose when I floss in between. It’s been at least 18 months since I’ve been experiencing this bc I’ve addressed this at my last 3 cleanings (every 6 months).

The first time, they did x-rays, those typical tests-bite down, putting pressure, tapping, etc. and said they didn’t see anything wrong. I ended up going back about a month later bc I still felt uncomfortable about it and thought something has to be wrong. Still nothing.

I just had my cleaning last week, brought it up again, and STILL nothing. They even did a CT as a courtesy and apparently nothing showed there either. I’ve done a lot of research and I’m convinced I have gum disease, but the dentist has never mentioned anything. Not even receding gums or anything along those lines. I asked them to send me copies of my X-rays, and from what I’ve learned (from Google so take that into consideration I guess), even those appear to show gum disease…

These are from 2/6/26 + 3/5/26 (don’t have a copy from this month yet). I have ones from 2023-2025 and it doesn’t seem like a drastic difference from then and now. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!!
