Should I have my lower-left wisdom tooth removed, or can I keep it? It has been painful for about a week, but the swelling has gone down and the pain is less severe now.

I’ve not been experiencing any discomfort or pain at all. Will it cause problems if I don’t do anything about it?

My 6-year-old niece has been struggling with severe tooth decay. After the loss of her mom, her dental health worsened, and many of her teeth are now badly decayed. We have asked two dentists and they won’t extract her teeth because of her age (6yrs old). I just don’t know what to do next. I just want to give her a childhood she can smile about.

Hello, need advice from other dentist/ortho here. I have braces for 2 years na and my case is very simple but until now hindi padin mafix ang problem and nag develop pa nga ako ng overbite. On my recent appointment, i pointed out na lumalayo na yung lower teeth ko sa upper, so my dentist said na gagamitan daw nya ng RCS wire of course wala ako idea about it since first time ko yan marinig. Nilagyan ng rcs wire yung lower teeth ko, after a few days, sobrang sakit nito halos di ako makakain, and I feel na yung movement ng teeth ko ay pa opposite, instead na ipapaforward ang lower teeth ko, lalo syang pumasok pa loob and umangat, so sinearch ko yung RCS wire, found out na mali ang pagkakalagay ng wire instead na pa downward, pa upward ang lagay. (See pic nakaflip yung wire upsidedown ang pagkakalagay)

So, after a week binalik ko sa dentist ko, at first hindi nya alam na mali ang pagkakalagay, sinabi lang nya, hala anong nangyari jan, hindi daw effective sakin. Pinalitan nya muna ng finishing wire daw. Then saka ko na sinabi na mali ata doc ang pagkakalagay nyo ng wire baliktad po ata, then ang sabi lang nya, ay mali ba, hindi diba ganito, ganito lagay ko ah. Sabi ko, kaya nga doc yung ngipin ko pumasok lalo sa loob at umangat eh, tapos sinabi pa sakin na nililito ko daw sya. I remain calm and polite padin sabi ko, doc gusto ko maayos na yong lower teeth ko dapat tapos na to eh pero lalong lumalala overbite ko. Then sabi nya, sige gusto mo ibalik ko nalang paganito (yung pa downward na) sabi ko doc, baka madamage naman ang roots ng ngipin ko dahil sa sobrang force. (Mukhang di nya talaga alam ginagawa nya) gusto kong umiyak as in muntik na. I tried contacting other dental clinic for second opinion pero di daw sila magchecheck if walang endorsement or recommendation from my current dentist. Pano ako mag papa second opinion?

What i want to know, is it okay ba na ipabalik agad yung correct orientation ng rcs wire hindi ba sya makaka affect sa root or wait muna for 4 weeks to settle yung teeth with the finishing wire? Thanks!

My dentist told me, “hindi ka nagsusuot ng retainer noh?” and yeaaa 😭😭

Hola a todos. Me gustaría recibir opiniones sobre las opciones estéticas que podrían funcionar en mi caso.

Tengo un diastema debido a el frenillo de la boca que queda entre los dos insicivos que no me molesta demasiado pero si se puede corregir mejor. Lo que más me preocupa son mis incisivos laterales superiores, que son bastante pequeños y tienen forma conoide, además de un canino que se fracturó hace unos años y actualmente está dañado.

Por lo que me han comentado, también tengo una mordida profunda. Mi principal objetivo es mejorar la estética de la sonrisa manteniendo un aspecto natural y sin que los dientes se vean demasiado grandes o artificiales.

Estoy considerando reconstrucciones con resina/composite para los laterales conoides y para reparar el canino roto, pero me gustaría saber qué otras opciones recomendarían los profesionales o personas que hayan pasado por algo parecido.

Mis preguntas son:

1. ¿Los laterales conoides suelen corregirse bien con resina estética o hay opciones mejores?

2. ¿Un canino fracturado puede reconstruirse de forma duradera y estética?

3. ¿Es posible mejorar la armonía de la sonrisa manteniendo el diastema?

4. ¿Creen que sería recomendable algún tratamiento de ortodoncia debido a la mordida profunda?

5. Viendo el caso, ¿qué tratamiento harían ustedes si el objetivo principal fuera la estética?

self ligating siya and it sucks ass dahil nagretain lang ung dating structure ng teeth ko tapos mas tumagilid pa ung laterals ko.

my main problem is gaps sa upper teeth ko and magpantay pero theres no progress talaga.

This happened back in 2021, when I was still in high school, so I honestly didn’t know much about dental treatments or whether what happened was something I should have questioned. I simply trusted what I was told and never thought of raising any concerns at the time.

I had a root canal done in November 2021. On December 24, I messaged my dentist because I noticed the treated tooth felt loose. I even sent a video showing what I was experiencing. They asked me to come in, examined the tooth, and told me that it was normal, so I didn’t think much of it.

However, on January 2, while eating at a restaurant, I simply bit into a piece of squid and suddenly felt the tooth crack. I went back immediately, and the dentist confirmed that the tooth had fractured. It was temporarily restored, and I was referred to another dentist (I believe a more senior dentist in our province), where I eventually had to pay another ₱12,000 for additional treatment.

Looking back now, what has been bothering me is that I had already reported that the tooth felt loose before it fractured. Since I was reassured that everything was normal, I didn’t seek another opinion or question it further. Now I’m wondering whether that looseness should have prompted further investigation, or if the fracture was simply an unfortunate complication that couldn’t have been prevented.

Another thing that made me curious was the number of X-rays taken during the root canal. I had X-rays at almost every appointment, sometimes more than once in a single visit. In comparison, I previously had a root canal done by another dentist with only one or two X-rays throughout the treatment, and that tooth has never caused any problems. I understand that every case is different, so I’m not saying the number of X-rays alone means anything—I just found the difference surprising.

For dentists or those with similar experiences, do you think the looseness I reported should have been investigated further, or can a tooth still fracture shortly after a root canal even if everything was done appropriately?

Yung 4 upper teeth sa harap ay na root canal and I noticed na nag dadarkened na yung lining ng crown ko sa gums. Natatanggal pa po ba yung parang pangingitim nya o need palitan ng crown? Di ko na kaso maalala if porcelain ba to or ceramic.
