planning to quit within the next month or two (not for any bad reasons, just don’t need the job anymore) but was wondering how to do it?

do I tell a mate or does it have to be a captain? is the usual 2 weeks notice good?

obviously can’t ask anyone at my store because I don’t want rumors flying around just yet, so tyia

ETA: I like never see my captain. he mostly works mornings and I exclusively close so I see him maybe once a month, usually not for long. so having a face to face convo will be hard. I do see the “captain’s mate” a lot so I’m thinking maybe talk to them?
