Looking for a personal item backpack that'll fit under the aisle seat on the max8. Does anyone know the dimensions or have a bag that definitely fits that I could reference?

I've had a flight booked for July for a week or two and decided I wanted to change my seating assignment from a choice window in the back, both ways, to a choice preferred aisle in rows 6/7. There were a ton of options to choose from. That said, out of curiosity, I decided to check what was available for that same flight if I were booking it for the first time, and it said there are only 2 seats available for choice/choice preferred and none for basic. Is it intentional that they display availability differently for a seat change vs. a new booking? I wonder if this contributes to the surprise seat changes at the gate.
