Beginner help.

So im brand new to cad literally 3 days ago. And 3d printing. Im trying to design a caddy. I have it 99% done. I just need to add 4 holes that ive learned to create easily now and push them down into the surface at a 45 degree angle. I know if I can figure out what im missing that it will be repeatable in seconds just like the rest of the stuff ive learned. But no matter where I place it on the new plane it only extruded to new surface doesn't give me a cut option like the regular holes did. Id love anyone's help for like 15 minutes.
