Sir Geoffrey Colby

We need to talk about this man here, Sir Geoffrey Colby. I've been amazed to figure out how much this man did for out country when he was our governor. Our first administration foolishly renamed many of the things he built to bear the name of Kamuzu Banda, when in fact Kamuzu did not conceive the ideas behind them nor, in some cases, build the structures that were renamed. The projects he put in place are just too numerous to put in words here, and he did it all in just 8 years. I'd argue that factoring in the time he spent as governor, he did more for Malawi in just 8 years than any other leader has done over the years they spent leading us. We have been tricked into believing colonial rule was all hellish, but the truth is, the British did a lot of amazing things which has been placed under the carpet by our politicians trying to garner all credits to themselves.

PS. Why was Kamuzu Banda such a narcissist?

Our People Are Unhealthy

Has anyone ever thought about how unhealthy we are in Malawi? We have people who are malnourished, but I want to talk about the problem of obesity and overweight. Just take a look at random photos of people on social media and see how fat we are. We praise fat/big arse women calling them thick, which gets many women to become fat, putting themselves in a dangerous health risk. We praise fat men saying they are eating well and having a good life, when they are eating themselves to the graves. It's no wonder people die so young in Malawi. A person who dies at 60 or 70 is said to have lived long. It's about time we change our eating habits and stop taking up too much carbohydrate, sugars and fatty foods. Otherwise we'll keep dying and spending money on medial expenses so needlessly
