ACCESS TO AI MODELS OUT THERE FOR CHEAP (ACTUALLY FOR FREE)

As a researcher based outside Malawi, I recently learned that accessing services many of us take for granted, such as Netflix, Spotify, and even some online learning platforms, can require people to visit a bank just to make payments or gain access.

I believe knowledge and technology should be as accessible as possible. With that in mind, I've been making some paid AI models available to use for free.

Most of my work has focused on transformer architectures, the technology behind the current wave of large language models like ChatGPT. This time, though, I've shifted my attention to AI for 3D modeling.

You can try it here:
https://opanda-kanthu-means-blank-in-chiche-two.vercel.app

P.S. I really hope "Opanda Kanthu" actually means "blank" in Chichewa. 😅 If I'm wrong, please let me know!

P.S also hope this is not shilling, there is no signup e.t.c, just have fun

I got tired of finding houses through WhatsApp groups, so I built a Malawian property app 🇲🇼

Hi everyone,

Over the past few months I've been building Kwathu, a property app made specifically for Malawi.

Like many people, I noticed that most houses are advertised in scattered WhatsApp groups or on Facebook, making it difficult to search, compare, or know whether a listing is genuine.

I know Malawi already has property websites, and they serve an important purpose. Kwathu isn't trying to replace them simply because it's an app. The goal is to make the entire property search experience easier and more interactive.

Some of the features include:

Buy, rent and sell properties

Verified landlords through identity verification to help reduce scams.

Property alerts that notify you instantly when a property matching your preferences is listed.

Tenant property requests, allowing tenants to post what they're looking for so landlords can contact them directly

Viewing bookings.

In-app messaging between landlords and tenants

Landlord Pro analytics showing listing views, contact requests and viewing bookings.

Agent profiles and business tools for estate agents

Secure payment features currently being developed

Rather than just listing properties, I'm trying to build a platform that helps people throughout the entire process of finding, renting, buying and managing property.

I'd genuinely appreciate your feedback.

What frustrates you most when looking for a house in Malawi?

What feature would make you use an app like this?

Is there anything you think existing property websites or apps are missing?

If anyone is interested in trying it, I'm happy to share the download link in the comments. Your feedback will help shape future updates.

Buying USDT and Other Cryptocurrencies Using Mobile Money Without Agents

Since the discontinuation of the Yellow Card app, many people in Malawi have been looking for reliable ways to buy USDT and other cryptocurrencies without using agents. With the growing number of scams, many users are searching for safer alternatives that allow them to buy crypto directly.

After testing different options, I found that MiniPay and Trust Wallet are currently two of the most practical solutions available. Interestingly, both platforms use Yellow Card's payment infrastructure, making it possible to fund your crypto purchases using mobile money.

MiniPay

MiniPay is one of the easiest options for users who want to interact with cryptocurrency without relying on agents.

Some of the advantages include:

✅ Easy transfers between wallets and exchanges

✅ Support for stablecoins such as USDT and USDC

✅ Ability to send and receive funds quickly

✅ Convenient transfers to exchanges such as Binance and other wallets

✅ Reduced risk of scams since you are not dealing with third-party agents

For many users, MiniPay provides a simple and user-friendly way to move funds within the crypto ecosystem.

Trust Wallet

Trust Wallet is another option that utilizes Yellow Card's payment system.

Current details:
• Rate: approximately MK4,605 per USDT
• Minimum deposit: MK12,000

One thing to note is that Trust Wallet does not currently allow direct USDT purchases. Instead, you purchase cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH) and then swap them for USDT within the wallet.

Final Thoughts

Although the Yellow Card app is no longer available, its payment infrastructure is still being used by platforms such as MiniPay and Trust Wallet. This means users can still buy and move cryptocurrency using mobile money without depending on agents.

While the exchange rates may be slightly higher than what some agents offer, many people will find the added security and convenience worth the extra cost.

If you know of any other reliable methods for buying crypto with mobile money in Malawi, feel free to share them in the comments and help others stay safe from scams.

Spotify premium

Not sure if this is useful to anyone here, but I know some people in Malawi want Spotify Premium and don't have a USD card to pay for it. I have a few available spots on my Spotify Premium Family plan for MWK 3,000/month. If you've been looking for an easier way to get Premium, send me a message.

What's up with Malawi and their currency ??? , geniune question from an outsider

Hey, i am Kenyan and recently met this beautiful malawian lady. We hit it off and lets just say we fell in love.

Long story short, she went back home and literally sending money to and from the coutry is a huge test of patience (mine in particular)

Normal channels like banks or mobile money transfer is expensive. Using Crypto also tasking cause there is no reserve for MWK when cash (USDT) needs to go out of the country and vise verse

Even paying for Netflix she mentioned going to the bank?? or using the black market or something , i did not get the explaination she gave.

How do I tell her? And am I an asshole?

Okay boom, so lately, I found some girl on Facebook, right? So one day she invites me to her crib, we hang out, we do the nasty and then it got time that I had to go… she had invited me to stay but there is one reason I just cannot bring myself to do that…

She has to go bath and use the bathroom outside…. As in she has one of them pit latrines and outside showers at her house that she shares with idk how many other households in that compound.

I’ve never used those pit latrines before in my life. And I’m not trying to start now. But I can’t just tell her that because it’ll come off kinda douchey.

What would you guys do? Just tell her? How would you do it? Help a brutha out 😴

If You Had to Choose: Alcohol or girls? Why?

I know this might sound like a weird comparison, but it's something I've heard people joke and argue about for years, so I wanted to see what Reddit thinks.

If you had to choose between girls and being able to enjoy alcohol whenever you wanted, which would you choose, and why?

Some people say girls brings happiness, peace, and purpose that no drink can ever replace. Others argue that alcohol helps them relax, socialize, and unwind after a stressful day.

I'm not trying to start a gender war or encourage drinking. I'm just curious about how different people think about this comparison. If you've experienced both, which has brought you more joy, fewer problems, or better memories?

Please share your honest opinion and the reason behind it. I'd love to read different perspectives and hear some interesting stories.
