Shams Needs to be Sacked
There, I fucking said it. This guy needs to be sacked. I am sorry but heads need to (proverbially) roll over at Arrowhead for it to get through their thick skulls that actions (or lack thereof) have consequences.
The buck needs to stop somewhere. Someone needs to take accountability for all of this:
- The last red Stratagem (Orbital Napalm Barrage) we got WAS IN 2024
- Core game mechanics like Mechs/Vehicles being added to Warbonds instead of being free
- Literal pages and pages of bugs that haven't been fixed for 2+ years now
- Changes to enemies no one asked for while leaving stratagems in the dirt for years (Sterilizer is still cheeks even post buff, and before that it hadn't been buffed for year, Orbital Precision Strike is still awful after they shadow nerfed its blast radius, Eagle Airstrike is a straight downgrade from 500kg, etc.)
- Monkey paw game balancing that often times ends up cancelling any good or in some cases (like the enemy durable damage buffs + mech buffs) end up being a net negative.
- NO BALANCING TEAM FOR A MAJOR SONY IP????
If the corporate guillotine needs to claim someone, let it be him. He's insufferable, insanely stubborn/obstinate, repeatedly bleats his stupid "A game for everyone is a game for no one" crock of shit, refuses to change his clearly unpopular game direction unless the community goes nuclear and to add insult to injury, this guy isn't even an actual game dev.
His "game dev" experience over at Paradox Interactive consists almost entirely of C-suite / Corporate roles that have legitimately nothing to do with actual game development. This guy is a fucking suit! He's not an actual game developer and holy smokes can you tell from the way AH is being handled. Is it a coincidence that the second Johan Pilestedt, the old CEO and an actual game dev and OG of AH, stepped down, we went from having free stuff outside warbonds, player driven campaigns like Malevelon Creek, etc. straight to "nothing ever gets fixed if we cant monetize it and we never give out free stuff unless the community gets mad".
Pilestedt himself was plenty incompetent (1 shot rocket devastators moment), but judging from how well the game did at launch, he's clearly better than who we have now. Ideally we get someone completely new who's not a suit, not incompetent and can actually steer the game in a better direction (fuck the grunt fantasy).
