ARROWHEAD WHAT IS THIS

So as we know by now, the squids have launched three surprise invasions given that we are preoccupied with the void. I went down to do a LEVEL 7 defense mission, and all I see is a swarm of ONLY HARVESTERS spawning in. You can't see it in the clip, but these guys were spawning INSIDE THE DEFENSE STRONGHOLD ALMOST RIGHT NEXT TO THE GENERATOR. We obviously lost this mission, and my game crashed, but this is a sign that arrowhead needs to stop making warbonds and actually fix their game. What are your thoughts on this? (Discussion flair because I want to hear what you all have to say about this) (Repost because the vid had issues)

PSA to Arrowhead: Most of your HD2 customers will NOT buy your next game if you keep treating HD2 as a "side project".

The title mostly speaks for itself.

- Infrequent Game Balancing

- Not Enough Bug Fixing

- Subversion of Expectations

- Undocumented Changes

- Not Learning from Past Mistakes

- Ignoring Player Requests

- Reinforcing Toxic Positivity

- Poor Data Management (File Size, Things to Datamine, etc)

- Repeated Hardware Issues for Users

- Promotion of Fomo tactics when its deemed "appropriate"

- Lying/Gaslighting

- Difficulty levels unbalanced

And we could say more.

For the past 3 years now, this is an incomplete list of what over half of your customers have seen.

We are not on the road to "Being like a FromSoftware game"

I have read hundreds of comments about how people will actively avoid buying your next game, quit this game, or avoid spending money on this game because of your studios decisions.

Most of us feel like we arent being heard, actively ignored, or your focus is no longer Helldivers 2

Alot of are more sad than we are upset. We have watched you take a game that had more potential than any we had seen in a decade, and squander it. Poor decisions on top of poor decisions over and over again.

This is the crowd that review bombed you enough to start the latest change. Its the same crowd that wont show up to buy your next game if you choose to keep going down the path you've been going on for the last 3 years.

Regardless of how many upvotes or downvotes this post gets, it is the truth you need to hear. We all hope you do something with this info instead of ignoring it like you have on many other things.

Do you want to fix things and make us happy again?

  1. Be COMPLETELY honest, no more lying

  2. Be COMPLETELY transparent, no more Undocumented Changes. Even if you think we will hate them.

  3. Show INTREST in what your community wants. We've been asking for customization since launch as an example.

  4. Take the TIME to go back through old warbonds and balance them. Yes it doesnt make you money right now, but making them work for future releases makes you consistent returns on new players.

  5. PLAYTEST your game before you update it. Were tired of being forced beta testers, crashing and dealing with unfair mechanics.

  6. LAUNCH a beta test for those of us who do want to help out. We all shouldn't be subject to it if we dont wsnt to be.

  7. Add MEANINGFUL PROGRESSION for us to chase. Extra levels and titles dont mean much to us, we just equip warbond titles anyway.

  8. Reach out to community modders for HELP with the games problems. Take a look at say CGW, or even the guys actively cheating. They are fixing some of the games problems with simple toggles or remixing of content.

  9. Do a DEEP DIVE into WHY specific glitches and crashes keep happening across updates. They shouldnt be returning once you fix them.

  10. Do a THOROUGH look into how/what enemies spawn on multiple difficulties. 7-10 shouldnt all feel the same.

  11. Look DEEP INTO what enemies the player base overwhelmingly doesnt like, and look at thier suggestions. The war strider comes to mind.

  12. Lastly, and more importantly, pull thr focus toward the PLAYERS HAVING FUN. I understand we can be hard to deal with, and sometimes you wsnt to take that frustration out on us... but we are your customers. WE are what make your games profitable, and continue to be sold. If you keep catering toward this "small niche audience" idea, you will eventually be insolvent as a buisness. Do not let the arrogance of looking down from your golden tower replace your fear of being one of the peasants again. The day you give into that, is the day you have already fallen.

*to my fellow redditors*:

Alright guys, lets see the comments. If you've got something to flame me with lets get it. If not, lets see those likes so somebody actually reads this.

Arrowhead, can you stop doing this kind of BS during major-major orders? PLEASE?

This may be my very first post in this subreddit but holy shit why on earth AH fucks up like this during every most important MO? In Cyberstand(scripted af) we had a reserve system that counted every death in the whole galaxy, Voxes that could go under walls, sit on top of skyscrapers.

Now this, a gamemode that can't be played and three planets under attack by the most unplayed subfaction. Let's not forget about the mindless masses becoming watchers masses.

Sorry for this rant, I'm loving kicking xeno's asses but I'm tired of AH messing things up right at the most critical time and not doing much about it until months later

I have an apology to this sub.

I’ve defended Arrowhead many times on this sub. I’ve even made posts saying that people here were whining too much, and I genuinely hoped Arrowhead was building up to something big. But they never delivered.

We’ve already seen the Mindless Masses and Vote Snatchers before going into the Void, so technically, they aren’t even new update content. The second operation was built up to be incredibly dramatic, and as we got closer to the Void Source Planet, it really felt like something major was waiting for us. A lot of us were hoping for the Cultists, or at least some other big reveal.

Instead, none of that happened. After all that buildup, all we really got were three new biomes.

EDIT: We, the people on this sub, aren’t the only ones disappointed with the new update. As of right now, only around 30,000 players are on the VOID SOURCE PLANET. This is the lowest player count we’ve seen after a major update.

On Cyberstan, you could see hundreds of thousands of active players, but now? Barely anyone is even playing on the new, supposedly “long-awaited” planet. That alone says a lot about how underwhelming the update feels and how little actual new content there is.

The 250 medal cap is bullshit

Didn't want to post on the main sub because I know I will probably get downvoted to hell and I know this might be an unpopular opinion even here. But as a level 36 who DOESNT have even close to everything. One thing thats been really pissing me off is the hard 250 medal limit. Its absolute bullshit that I get punished for playing and not wanting to spend money buying warbonds (when i could spend my irl work going out w friends, family, expenses or literally anything else) or wasting my LIMITED time grinding d1s for super credits just because I didnt play the game on the timeline arrowhead wants. "BuT iTs BeCaUsE aRrOwHeAd dOeSnT wAnT yOu bUyInG eVerYtHinG aT OnCe" Suck my fucking dick, that has zero effect on other players and im still playing the games regardless, Im not buying super credits so their pockets dont change regardless. If i played enough games to get enough medals to buy everything at once I should damn well be able to. Besides the "greater good" and "story" which is basically rigged anyway literally what is the point of doing PO's or the MO if win or lose Arrowhead just tells me "Fuck you, pay me", It doesnt make me want to play the game longer or more it just makes me want to drop it and go play something that rewards the games I play and doesn't send them to the squid void because of some arbitrary cap or timeline. At least let me exchange them for samples, requisition, XP or fucking SOMETHING

They should make a SEAF Warbond (WARBOND IDEA)

I've been playing with a mod that transforms armor and equipment into SEAF variants and I had so much fun, so I thought about the weapons and stratagems of a SEAF warbond:

  • Armor would be the 4 variants currently in the game + 6 helmets

Passive: Stamina regenerates faster + Improved Weapon Ergonomics

  • Primary Equipment: SEAS-12 Shotgun (Semi/Automatic modes)

It would be a weapon similar to the real-life SPAS-12, medium armor penetration with high damage and 9 bullets in the magazine

  • Primary Equipment: R-50 Titan (Sniper)

It would be a weapon with two modes, the first is the standard mode and fires normal .50 caliber bullets with high damage and recoil, the second mode would enter static reload, consume all the bullets in the magazine and fire an explosive bullet with heavy armor penetration dealing 2,000 damage (the same as a thermite) + Working bipod

  • Primary Equipment: M4 ROYAL (Assault Rifle)

A silenced assault rifle similar to the M4A1, with medium armor penetration, almost zero recoil, and damage on par with other assault rifles. It's also possible to remove the silencer to increase damage.

  • Secondary Equipment: FIX-54 ANGEL

A welding machine similar to those in Battlefield, capable of repairing exosuits and vehicles. It would be similar to energy weapons. (need to take care to not overheat it.)

  • Secondary Equipment: P-240 JUSTICE

A submachine gun with medium armor penetration, less damage than the Redeemer, but with medium armor penetration.

  • "SEAF Squad Deployment" Strategy

Similar to the existing SEAF squad modifier in the game, but this one allows you to call them on planets that don't have this modifier.

  • "SEAF Radio Pack" Strategy

A backpack that, when its function button is pressed, gives an order to the SEAF squad, not just "follow me" or "hold position," but rather asks them to focus on completing the objective, such as loading SEAF artillery, unlocking ICBM locks, redirecting fuel, ordering them to attack a specific target, close bug holes, or giving them a hellbomb and send them to blow themselves up in the middle of a fortress

  • Booster "Last Stand"

Instead of dying immediately, you enter a bleeding state, and can be revived or dragged by teammates (including SEAFs). You can crawl slowly and shoot with your pistol, but you eventually die if you are not revived.

  • Player Title "SEAF Commander" and SEAF Pattern.

Give this 5 bursts -2mag so we can actually use this thing please

Such a fun unique weapon, from a quite expensive "LEGENDARY" warbond.

I wasted hard working sc exclusively for this thing because its the only thing in the warbond i found would be worth because the rest are just worse variations of already existing guns and oh boy, its tough

If there was a refund button mine would be for this.

edit: currently the LEAST used primary in the entire game BTW

It Sure Feels Like Arrowhead's Priorities Have Shifted Away From Development

I did read a post here the other day stating, "Arrowhead doesn't care about the game anymore". I am honestly starting to believe that their main studio focus has shifted to a new project.

Wushu just made a post saying they helped on the Void update, so these "major" content updates aren't even being handled entirely by Arrowhead anymore, which could explain why they sometimes seem to break previously fixed issues. No fault to the studios aiding them, just the way the engine and codebase seem to work.

They have been promising endgame content for 2 yrs now, now I am starting to think if they are outsourcing most of the design work that's not coming any time soon.

I understand why Arrowhead chooses to stay a small studio, to keep the team focused, protecting the studio culture. Avoiding the bureaucracy of becoming a "Triple AAA" studio. But I'd argue we are seeing those same red flags anyway.

We've seen priorities change, previous promises walked back, long-requested features take an extremely long time, huge technical debt build up and communication that sometimes seems to contradict what was said previously.

So what exactly is staying small protecting them from at this point?

And at what point does "we're a small studio" become a shield for deflecting criticism? Not gonna lie, guys, I am worried about the game's future.

Will Arrowheads fuckup ever end

Alairt situation as of now

Yeah this is definitely glitched, it even fucks up CPU load game crashed 3 times in a row already, don't touch new Exostorm defence until they figure out how to unfuck the mess

Why are we still calling Illuminate a "squid" when we haven't fight any new squid from this faction ?

Just something that kept me up at night.

Also, the pic is from Metal Slug; those aliens are actual squid.

A bit underwhelming

(Apologies for poor english)

I'm exagerating a bit in the illustration above but the "anomalous" planet was trully a disappointement. The Illuminates are my favorite faction lore-wise and design-wise and I was really hoping they'd learn from Cyberstan and actually put a lot of effort into the void planet's environnements and the new enemies instead of just recycling already existing assets with slight recolors.

Don't get me wrong the few lab areas are really cool, the temples are fine I suppose, but most of the planet is just sand/dirt and virus-looking trees, maybe I'm delussional, but from the revanchist squid-looking cultist faction that turns humans into monstrosities I would've expected a lot more, some sort of "lovecraftian" environnements (as-in how Lovecraft described R'lyeh or something similar), or even H.R Giger's inspired environnements since there's a lot of body horror/biopunk involved into the Squids.

Unless those planets are outposts and we've yet to see actual proper "main" squid worlds, I'm really disapointed with this update right now, the crusher and wretches are really cool looking, but gameplay-wise it's basically just bigger fleshmobs and terminid-looking humans.

Hopefully this shitty image will age like milk as the deeper we go into the void the better the environnements and new enemies gets revealed (cultists perhaps ?), but I've used enough copium for this game

Devoid of Content is my last straw.

After 1.1k hours in this game, I've always known that Arrowhead got a game they didn't deserve, but I always held on to hope that they'd one day see this and actually make an effort to fix and polish the game that I love. I went through countless updates and warbonds that felt like nothing-burgers in the moment aside from one or two weapons, consistent nerfs to us (the player, in a PvE game for no reason at all), and then good ones to outshine the bad, but I just can't with this studio anymore. Narrowhead (yes, that is their true name) is so busy taking vacations or doing ANYTHING other than trying to make their game good that this whole big title update feels like a PATCH that added a subfaction, biome types, and a few new missions. Not like the cyborgs, either. 2 enemies. And reused subfactions upon subfactions to make the new planets feel unique. They don't. They just jacked up the spawn rates on the void source planet to make it feel like an enemy homeworld.

Compare that to Into the Unjust for a second. The Hive Worlds had an entirely new mission area where you went underground, had new units, and added possibly the only boss enemy that AH will ever have, and it was all so peak. Cyberstan had the megafactories and the oppressiveness of the entirely new cyborg army and their terrifying Vox Engines.

What does the illuminate have? Crushers? The wretches are the equivalent to voteless hunters.

And you know what? This could all have been mitigated if they didn't SCRAP THE CULTISTS. I SWEAR, THEY TRY TO MAKE THE GAME LESS AND LESS FUN EVERY UPDATE. WERE THEY NOT ALMOST FINISHED??? WHY??? WHY WOULD YOU SCRAP THEM TO SPAM 2 UNITS???

THE GAME EVEN HAD A WORKING ARMOR CUSTOMIZATION FEATURE IN THE ALPHA! STRATAGEM LAUNCHERS ON MECHS! THEY SCRAPPED IT ALL! THEY SCRAPPED MY GAME!!!

THEY SCRAPPED MY HELLDIVERS 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The most insufferable posts you will ever see.

They add nothing. They act like everything is fine and dandy when there are glaring problems with this game. I don’t know why it pisses me off so much. But it just does.

u/Ravenlord2009 — 2 days ago

I had enough of em already

Same mobs spammed again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again

Shoot their helm or Autocannon Flaks or Grenade Spams or Gas spams even, yeah we all know how to deal with them at this point.

Bring Walkers or Tanks or whatever you mow them down. Crusher as unit itself isn't hard to deal at all. But the thing is these fucks are so much UNREWARDING and unfun to play with. No matter how many you kill them, you get swarmed again in like less than a minute

You grind them into mush. You look at your right side. Oh shit there's 6 more of em. Deal with that. Also apparently one of those EDM clubbing Watchers called the drop. Drops coming in. You see dish Dropping 4 of em like diarrhea.

Jesus fucking christ man we have to deal with these kind of hellscape till Weekend? It's already boring as fuck man
