Arrowhead being an "indie" studio shouldn't be an excuse for their neglect of the game
In order to have this conversation we need to define what an "indie" studio is. Is it measured by numbers of employees? Is it measured by resources or money available to the studio? Is it the amount of players that play said studios games?
Let's look at the stats the current amount of employees at Arrowhead is 130-140 people (via google search). Let's compare this to 2 indie studios, mojang & hello games.
At the Microsoft acquisition of mojang they had about 40 employees. Hello games has 45 people some still around since the creation of their game no mans sky. Given these numbers Arrowhead doesn't have the numbers excuse
As for resources and number of players I doubt a studio that has acquired 3 major crossovers (killzone, halo, warhammer 40k) has nearly or just below 100,000 active helldivers daily. These aren't indie numbers or resources.
Now how does Arrowhead neglect helldivers 2? You can obviously see of you look for more that 5 mins how Arrowhead neglects their player base and game.
1: the lack of bug fixes and still standing glitches in the game. To say I expect helldivers to be a perfect game would be a lie and an outrageous expectation. But fact helldivers continues to have game breaking issues for months on end. For example xbox divers could not see tree and over textures for a spand of 8 months or so, ruining the experience of the void planet and oasis planets. If you die on a hive world youll be hellpod locked halfway up a wall or forced to repeatedly drop into holes
2: the outright removal of nearly finished features and content. The big armored car, cultists, armor customization, better weapon modifications, and platoon systems where nearly and almost outright but in the game . But because it "ruins the design". Looking at the sheer amount of unfinished content that we the community want just sitting in the files is crazy. How many different shades of the color white do we need in the game that could be simplified with a armor paint system? Hell the new seaf are all but removed from the game rn except for the cities
3:the lack of meaningful storyline or meaningful events in the war. Dont you find it strange that we still talk about the creek when we lost more helldivers on other nameless worlds. Recently an entire planet disappeared off the map and the dss was having a deadspace-like event happening aboard but then nothing. Its gone. No address about the missing planet, the problem on the dss seemingly being "solved". So what do we do just wait till the next war event?
Now im in no way mad at Arrowhead, I want this to be an amazing game that will be around forever. But with these current issues and just neglect Arrowhead needs to figures somethings out if it wants to stay alive
