Sorry if this is long, want to provide context. My friend dropped the game last week after trying out Flashbang for the first time (she’d just bought Leon). The killer ended up finding her profile and spam messaging her across 3 different accounts afterward. She already has pretty severe anxiety, so even after I told her most killers aren’t like that, she uninstalled the game completely. She said she already gets insulted a lot in endgame chat, and that was basically the last straw for her. So now I’m back to solo queue on console…
What sucks is she’s probably one of the most altruistic survivors I’ve played with. To the point where she’ll throw herself under the bus just to get someone else out. She’ll go for hook saves/body blocks if someone’s getting tunneled because in our experience, a 3v1 at 4–5 gens is basically unwinnable. She even runs Dead Hard almost entirely to protect teammates rather than herself (bodyblock for a teammate getting tunnelled early on). Sometimes she’ll bring a flashlight for saves but she wanted flashbang just to decrease the chance of a killer using lightborn if they see her flashlight.
She’s also good in chase, which usually means the killer stops focusing her and ignores her all game, so most of her build is centered around helping weaker teammates stay alive longer, whilst I do the gens. I’ve always thought she was the kind of survivor I’d respect seeing in my own killer games. Good survivors are rare, and I usually give props when I see one in my killer games.
That’s why I’m surprised so many people seem to view her as a “bully” survivor instead of just a competent altruistic player.
I guess I’m curious where people personally draw the line between an altruistic survivor and an actual bully squad. And what perks people genuinely consider “bully” perks nowadays, because it feels like more and more perks and playstyles are getting labeled toxic/trolling just for being strong (and vice versa!). Altruism for me is what makes survivor rewarding, what’s the point if you play the role as if you are in a free for all.
For me, a bully squad is a group that doesn’t care about escaping at all and 99% of the time they never do. They ignore gens completely and just swarm the killer nonstop trying to make the match miserable for 20–30 minutes until the killer finally gets the 4k.
EDIT: Thank you everyone for being so nice! I’m positive that the comment section will encourage her to reinstall (which was my intention!). She’s an amazing player and she definitely makes soloq better. She can just be extremely emphatic and sensitive and wants everyone to have a good time. It’s only been since 2v8 started when she’s started to have a problem (idk)
survivor side: there is stigma surrounding the character you or someone else is playing and they assume either is bad (jane, claudette, meg, jeff, mikaela, etc. etc.) in other words, they're toxic and care too much.
killer side: they are closet cheating and saw which killer you joined the lobby as and they don't like said killer.
bonus:
PC typically dislike console survivors. [dropping pallets when trying to heal, very casual]
they genuinely realize they need to go do something else first.
i wish dbd wasn't filled with subtle cheaters and i also wish we had more servers.
had to throw that in there.
context:
i joined a lobby, and if you don't know- whether you leave the lobby or not whatever you say in the lobby chat will stay there for anyone who joins after. this is what was in the chat when i joined, but the "cheater" had already left. i hadn't played against an unknown in at least 100 hours, so this would be a crazy coincidence amongst 42 killer choices.
closet cheating is extremely rampant in dbd and i hope they finally figure out how to deal with it.
How can the game jump the sequential number on the names, when all they are playing in private mode and no one disconnected?

As a Freddy Krueger fan, I obviously have buy his dlc in DBD but quickly abbandonned him.
But recently I played him again and he is so cool !
I would like to play against him as a survivor but I dont remember being against him even if I play DBD since the Halloween chapter.
Is he a bad killer or something else ? Or is he not available anymore ?
(Sorry for my bad english, its not my first langage)
Back during the Blood Moon event, I had this party of three try to sandbag a solo queuer. Not something I entertain for even a second
Bring that shit, Dwight!
Night Channel here. This is my new skin project for the Unknown, which has an alien-like appearance. Its skins are very diverse and cover various conspiracy theories, so I decided to take on the Rockwell Incident.
I have three options for the head so far with three variations: whole, mixed, and especially mutated.
Please share your thoughts on which option you prefer! Just like with Grimoires, I'm interested in seeing the community's movement.
I know stunning a Ghoul mid leap isn't crazy hard, but I have respect for people who hit them. Good stun, Rebecca!
Me as female Trickster (not Mina)
And my girlfriend as the Trickster himself

We did this shoot last year and we are so happy now here is Mina in DBD, so we probably going to make her as well ✨
But I wanted to share these with all of you, and also wonder weither you like it or not 😌
Based on the fact that it’s on the roadmap, I think it’s safe to say that Friday, May 22nd, is likely when the next chapter is going to be revealed. Cross referencing that with the anniversary calendar BHVR released, this teaser today should be the last one, meaning this is the last number we’ll be getting. This leads to only a few possibilities.
BHVR genuinely has an ARG going to reveal the killer, but they’ve made it too convoluted and weird for anyone to solve. The reveal is happening whether this gets solved or not, so the best case scenario is that they reveal the killer and BHVR later says “hey this is how you should’ve solved our puzzle” which is just… so incredibly lame. Great now I know how to do it after it doesn’t matter anymore.
They’re all complete red herrings and lead to absolutely nothing. Their existence serves exclusively to distract people and waste time which is also really dumb. I don’t think it’s actually doing anything to increase positive attention towards the game and if anything just frustrates people.
This has nothing to do with the chapter but it IS something that will continue until anniversary and potentially reveal some details about the event. Let’s be honest with this one though… who cares? I mean the events are cool, but the chapter reveals are obviously where the excitement is at. Why would we care to go through this time consuming ARG just to learn about some new event mechanic?
I don’t mean this post to just spread negativity, but seriously, I don’t see an outcome here where anything “fun” comes out of this without someone solving it before Friday, and it looks like that isn’t happening. I really think this was a big miscalculation from BHVR and while I don’t think it will have any impact on the game, I think people will look back on this particular puzzle in the future and think “wow that whole thing was really worthless huh?” But what do you all think? Have you enjoyed the mystery specifically from the numbers and the challenge that it provides?
