This is something that’s been a mystery to me for a good long while. Has this location always been on the ark before it malfunctioned, or did the ark somehow built it itself after losing its overseer and was waiting for a new candidate to replace it?
Big thank-you to those at Studio Wildcard for providing me with this ARK: The Animated Series Part 2 Stillframe.

This Google Drive will be updated as I progressively reveal more of the content I have been given, through my ARK: Animated Breakdown series. (That’s right – there’s definitely more on the way, in terms of content, and reveals.)
Hi there, I'm a retired PVP player of Ark SE and have been getting an itch to play it recently. Just watched this YT Vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bekLKsjhFTw and it looks like the dude just builds bases for him to raid while he progresses thru the game. I would do that but 1. I suck at building bases and 2. it ruins the surprise and challenge of what the loot could be and stuff. Does anyone have any maps I can download with a bunch of bases scattered around with dinos and turrets I can raid while I progress to finish the game (preferrably the Island or Rag). Or if theres a mod that already does this, looked at the Primal NPC mod but I think its not rlly the same. Prefer to play ARK SE
For me it's this godamn turtle.
First you guide the parrot fish to it (which is usuallu a mess by itself)
Then you gotta guard the turtle from 0.5x coelacanths, sniping them as they swarm the megachelon or they eat the parrot fishes.
And worst of all; it's not even that useful.
Just did it so I could say I caught them all'
I grew up watching Ark and couldnt play it cuz i had no pc. But then, i finally got one. It was 3 years ago. The first time whilst playing ark, i had my first tame. His name was Han Kanal. I thought cuz of the knockback, I could take on an Alpha Rex. But the problem is, my rex was level 40 at that moment, and the alpha rex was 130. Thats how i lost my rex. I was on the edge of crying.I really had a connection with him :( Sad thats he's gone now..
Another Spino Tamed. We bout to go on a breeding spree!
So this idea sounded fun in my head but after playing for a few hours I'm not so sure anymore 😆
As an OG ARK player that never fought bosses or beat any maps in 1k hours (too many restarts), I revisited the game this year with a few friends and it was a blast. We were checking out the new maps that I didn't even get to see over the years and we ended up dominating them. So I got the idea to play the next map without flyers (until late game), and holy crap was that the best decision ever.
I got to experience Ragnarok and Valguero for the first time without using flyers and I had WAY more fun using underrated ground dinos, had no idea that Moschops and Procoptodon were so insane for example. Some areas suddenly became hard to reach because they were guarded by nasty dinos and we couldn't just fly over them. Because we felt flyers make many dinos obsolete and make traversing the map a cakewalk. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my Argies and Pteras, when mastered they can do everything, but they do make every playthrough feel kinda the same, once you discover flight you just skips A TON of progression and it's a massive power spike.
So then I got another idea while I was chasing beacons on my perfectly bred Ptera. What if I don't craft anything from my Engrams and can only use the loot and blueprints I find in the world? This could make almost EVERY loot drop meaningful again, huge even, whether it's early or later on. It would especially make finding blueprints invaluable, like finding a forge/smithy blueprint, or weapons and ammo on dead carnivores. It would make finding a random saddle early on a big deal, because you now get to use that dino, even if it's one of the underrated ones. I'm used to S+ so can even convert blueprints etc into S+ version.
And then I started on the Island, since idk anything about the story and wanted to find notes and learn more etc. I also nerfed XP rates to 0.25 to try and make progression more meaningful, to encourage finding notes on my own, without doing these note runs that I've seen people do when they max out their speed and end up high level in a couple hours already while being butt naked. That's definitely not what I was going for.
I spawned on the eastern beach near the swamp and slowly made my way towards the western beach and peninsula because I really like the scenery in that area. Not much to do obviously because I can't craft anything and can't fight anything either at this point. On my way across the southern beaches I found the first white beacon (lvl 3 req) and just hit lvl 3 from passive XP and from gathering berries. The beacon had a hatchet, torch, spears and other minor stuff which was perfect. The next 2 white beacons had a set of cloth armor and thatch building materials with a thatch foundation blueprint, so I could start building a base once I got to my location. Then I found a phiomia saddle and campfires and a bunch of other minor loot, a green sling blueprint from a ringed white beacon. A dead sarco had some arrows and stuff, but no bow yet. Carry weight was already becoming an issue because of the heavy saddle and the thatch pieces.
After I got to the western peninsula I noticed it wasn't exactly safe, there were 2 raptors running around across the water, but I started building anyway and realized I had nowhere to put the extra loot, like the heavy saddle and other stuff, since I didn't find a box, lmao. And at that point the 2 raptors somehow made it across the water and charged my half finished thatch house and ripped everything to shreds, including me. Usually they would be no problem as I would just bola them and headshot them with a spear or whatever because of their headshot multiplier, but I realized that I may never see a bola because it doesn't spawn in beacons afaik.
So yeah, I'm now thinking that maybe I didn't think this through properly. What do you guys think?
Alright here goes.
Me and a few buddies are playing Ragnarok ASA on a private server, pretty much official rates except dino growth speed. Last night we spotted a 135 Theri and decided it was a good place to start our eventual boss army so we trapped it with gates and got it down. I had to go AFK for a while and when I came back it was at about 60% tamed and my buddy was using carrots. No biggy. We have no tames that give eggs good enough, so I jump on the griffin and go searching the new big eastern island for a bronto egg or two since there are tons of them there. I find one, make the exceptional kibble and head back. My buddy is pretty stoked because he's been baby sitting this for a while now and gone through about 1000 narcotics lol. So I put the kibble in and take out all the carrots, expecting that this one kibble will finish off the tame. We are just chatting waiting for it to eat and then we notice the kibble is gone but the taming percentage actually when down to 58%. How is this possible? Effectiveness still at 99.8% just as before, no damage was done as the Theri is completely surrounded by gates and doors and were standing right next to it, no one force fed it anything. Did the game just glitch? I feel like I did something wrong by taking out the carrots. Went out and found an egg, made another kibble, everything worked and it tamed no problem second time around.
TLDR; Theri was at 60% taming, I removed carrots and replaced with one kibble, it ate kibble but taming went down to 58%. Should I not have removed carrots?
i tried to do it, but i I couldn't transport the water to my farms :P
what you see here is a dead xiphactinus, wanna know how he died?
he died because he touched the surface of the water for a millisecond.
I was about to start a mission and had my pack of fishies following me on aggressive, they ran off and two of them died because they touched the surface of the water, which makes complete sense, so now I have to go breed and level some more.
additionally, I went to go do the mission where you hunt a brute plesiosaur, the mission was easy, however after beating it, the game said "mission failed" and HLNA was all like "this one might be too hard for you" I BEAT THE MISSION BUT IT SAID I FAILED SO I HAVE TO DO IT AGAIN, ITS NOT TOO HARD!
additionally, I tried to do a pirate outpost to further my skill tree, however, after completing the outpost, the skill tree mission said "fuck you" and decided that I actually didn't complete the outpost, which was really cool.
ADDITIONALLY, I tried the mission where you escort a dolphin, I beat it on gamma and beta but alpha is wayyyy too hard, the dunkleosteus have a billion health and do a billion damage, so my fish can't kill them before they do a billion damage to the dolphin, so now I need to tame and breed something that can stun the dunkleosteus, like baryonyx or I think helicoprions?
this game drives me nuts sometimes lmao-
What am I missing.....IF any spawn they are sub level 20, they only spawn maybe 2 at a time if at all. I've spent hours clearing out the islands I've seen them on. I've done many dino wipes. What gives here. I have override difficulty set to 5 so I see 100+ leveled literally everything but Deinotherium.......would it be a heinous cheat to just spawn one in lmao
Ark has been a huge part of my life. Solidly pushing 5k hours between Xbox and PC. I've met wonderful people on the official servers, one of which became the godfather of my son. I've already taken years-long breaks from Ark though, as every player knows it eventually gets to be too much.
Well, I have started up a server that will run for the next year or two for my closest friends to join me on. We are doing a "Full Tour" on the game. Once significant content updates stop, so will we. Every official map, every tame, every boss. More casual difficulty of course, but thats aside the point.
This gets me wondering what map I will park my character on, build a small house with a scenic view, and lay down one last time and log out. Once I'm done this time, I'll probably be done unless my son gets interested a decade from now.
Home for me is Scorched Earth. It's where I truly started. I spent hundreds of hours reaching alpha tribe status on PVE with my tribe. Its where I raised my first wyvern and took flight. Its where I met some of my truest friends. When I'm done, I'll pick a nice spot up by the waterfall canyon, build a nice adobe hut with some nicer furnishings, park my surviving tames, build a monument to our lost tames, and shut down my server.
Where will you rest your head that last time? Will it be huddled on Herbivore Island? Amidst the canyons of Ragnarok? Nestled in the Chalk Hills of Valguero? Atop the Spires of Sanctuary? Where will your last logout happen if you plan that far ahead?
This is heavily inspired by blackreach from Skyrim, and I know it isn’t exactly alike but it has the vibe.
Here you can find all your red zone creatures, aswell as rock drakes and Reapers.
Sumera is an ASE map that’s releasing soon!
Ill start, mine is the beelzebufo.
Torpor inflicting attacks
Extreme manevuarbilty and verticality
Deceptively high weight and HP
Can weild weapons while mounted
I dont use traps because of the maneuverability of the frog!
I also put a lot of points into weight, making the frog a viable tame for metal runs... like actual metal runs. I carry about 500 - 1000 metal on a high level frog.
Also hm goes to the purlovia, as much as we all hate this creature. I am a solo, and the reality of that is that im going to be raided in minutes, so instead of trying to survive in some dense forest, I hide all my loot in trilobites and purlovias across the map. My goal when playing PVP is to have fun, so I help new players with my frog, get them to flak, warn them of nearby turrets and whatnot, and then I waddle away.
My hot take is that all of you are playing PVP wrong. Late game BS where you live on an island with turrets and plant x all around you is boring! If you want to have fun in PVP, I suggest you join a high multiplier server like 6x or 10x and stop being afraid of dying!
So I just bought a laptop and ark is my favorite game and my laptop can absolutely crush it with the specs I got but the problem is it's only 512gb SSD how can I genuinely get to play ark also I need some free space for my college projects.
I’ve played modded unofficial and solo for 1000+ hours now. I’m looking to do a full offical play through of all bosses. but honestly I cannot find a good server that’s not completely filled. i can’t trust myself on solo to not cheat, i dont want too much mods and afraid of unofficial servers wiping. any advice?
