What is the most scenic mountain road trip in Oregon?
My mother-in-law is visiting from Kansas, and wants to see mountains. She is perfectly fine with up to 10 hours driving. If we start in Portland, where should we go? I was thinking The Dales, down to Smith Rock, then cut over to Highway 242 (with plans to stop at the Dee Wright observatory and Proxy Falls) then over to Eugene, and I5 back to Portland.
