State of the game has been rough lately.

State of the game has been rough lately.

No, I'm not expecting Saber to personally get on its knees and beg for me not to leave. I'm just starting a conversation.

Between the two consecutive Stratagems featuring modifiers that are either broken or poorly designed and the sheer volume of annoying to game breaking bugs this patch, I truly, honestly can't take it anymore. The cosmetics are nice, the gameplay loop — on its own — is still gold, and a lot of good changes have been made, but everything surrounding the good has become so overwhelming that it's more stressful to look past it than it is to just dip.

Disruption still crashes at random on Console. Siege mode still doesn't reward Accolades. Weapons will suddenly decide not to fire even if you switch back and forth. People's ordeals have been reset. Several modifiers, including the weekly ones handpicked by Saber, are partially or completely bugged. I've seen players straight up just fucking drop dead instantaneously at full health with no mortal wounds. With the whole new CEO debacle, I wouldn't put it past them that they're just vibecoding now.

I've tired myself out of this game before, for reasons that have mostly just been my own fault — grinding, burn-out, so on. This time, I feel like the game itself is just not being handled properly, and I don't think there's a good option besides taking a capital B Break. Helldivers 2 seems to be on the uprise right now.

Once again, I am not lashing out at the game company hoping they'll change their ways for lil' old me; this is a rant I'm hoping will connect with other people who have had a hard time enjoying this game as of late.

I love Space Marine 2. I'm just deeply frustrated by how many asterisks I've had to put in front of "love" these past few days.

What if?

Let me preface this by saying I'm not that well versed into the lore of 40k, but i do enjoy the universe and this game along with other Warhammer games.

What if there was an option for light indicators on the power packs for health and armor? Would it be lore accurate?

I personally really like playing games with as less HUD elements as possible for the immersion factor and always prefer diegetic options to traditional interfaces. This game already does a great job with the interface settings but there are still some vital info missing if you go almost HUDless, namely health and armor.

Since from what i understand a space marine's power armor already logs that information, would it be viable to have indicator lights in some area (depending on each model) to represent simply health and armor states? Perhaps in Space Marine 3?

The way i envision it is just 2 lights, 1 for health , 1 for armor, fully customizable, so color = indicating percentage, you can have them off in a certain threshold, and with blinking capabilities, like blink when on wound, or blinking white for contested health etc. This would apply to battle brothers as well so you can monitor their vitals in the field.(and ofc would be able to override their settings with yours on your screen so you know what they mean)

P.S. If you want to easily solo the weekly, you can kill the bots!

Shouting Hydra dominatus is optional. Also, bot deaths will NOT end the run. Both split up and personal quarry will not be impacting you when bots are down. However, they will respawn after respawn timer is up (same with normal runs). It is suggested to use automatic weapons for best results.

I talked about this in my previous rant post but apparently many people didn't know this is possible, so here it is.

I'm done with the weeklies

HOW DID THEY NOT TEST THIS? WHY DO WE GET 4 NEGATIVE MODIFIERS? 4 NEGATIVE MODIFIERS!!!!!! We get one relic per player while still having a mortal wound, so basically it's like a normal game with the twist that mission ends when you go down 2 times. AND THEY GAVE US ANOTHER SPLIT UP to play around so you can't heal!!!! Why devs, why? Why can't we have fun? Why is this game becoming more and more obnoxious one week after another? You can't heal with vanguard with this split up, you can't even heal your teammates with bulwark. It's just a waste of time. I hate this so much.

Tacticals: Turn off Radiating Impact for the weekly

Just remember to turn it back on when you’re done. Don’t be jumping into Hard Siege with Signal Jammer turned on once you’ve finished the weekly. 😂

In case you wanted to see how big Bolt Pistol bolts are in Space Marine 2, here you go.

Compared to a 7.62x54 bullet. 40K scaling is basically impossible to do accurately, but giving reasonable lore and and using Space Marine 2 Astartes and the standard Bolt Pistol as a reference, this is how big the bolts are. The .75 caliber number that's generally claimed is of course absolute BS in reality. These are closer to 40-50mm if you actually follow the proportions. (It's actually a bit on the smaller side, it would likely be a few millimeters bigger. However, I don't want the bolt pistol I'm making to look ridiculous. However, this scaling would be perfectly plausible even for Astartes scaling. Space Marine 2 sidearms can look a bit bigger than things like the models).

Tip for easy weekly clear

I think we can all agree that this week's stratagem combo is lame af... These past two weeklies have basically been the devs saying "omg look guys! we finally fixed the worst 2 broken stratagems in the game!". As if this makes them any more bearable...

In response here's an easy guide + build on how to clear this bs mission:

Step 1: set yourself to private mode

Step 2: select Heavy and follow this build:

  • Heroic Heavy Plasma + Heroic Plasma Pistol
  • Perks:
    1. Restoration
    2. Thermal Boost
    3. Versatility
    4. Additional Supplies OR Encompasing Aegis (personally prefer extra ammo)
    5. Consecutive Execution
    6. Whataever you prefer*
    7. Brute Force OR Wrath Of The Imperium
    8. Coolant Reserve

Step 3: Start the mission. Immediately line up the bots and take them both out with a single shot from the Heroic Plasma Pistol. Leave them down and don't ever revive. They take a looong time to die, and then get a 360 second timer to respawn. Once they do, line them up again, and kill them.

Step 4: Profit from your permanent Coolant Reserve + Thermal Boost combo, while simultaneously disabling the Split Up stratagem. And since the mission has both factions AND Cadians, there will be enough distractions to pull focus away from yourself.

Genuinely how is there a broken modifier on the weekly strategem week after week for months?

Doesn't sabre have some kind of meetings to address community feedback? How are there literally broken modifiers week after week for months? Its actually kind of baffling its repetitive like this. I love the game and the quality so much, but these non stop bugs in a weekly pool of content you HAVE to play to obtain the highly sought after currency makes no sense. Just remove the broken mods from rotation. Until it’s not broke... Is it that hard?

This weekly hard strat has taught me that literacy and reading comprehension levelin the Imperium are at dangerously low levels.

Weekly Measured Mercy. "You are granted 5 relics" ... but are you?

Okay, as you can see the mission has just started. We are literally at the first area. No one has gone down yet even once.

Terminators show up, I warn my brothers and try to take aggro. I was hoping that the Vanguard would remain at a distance and use ranged damage but sadly he went for the kick

Because of split up I was reluctant to got in close at that point but I realized I had to try and shield them. I tried, I didn't make it in time.

He goes down to the Terminator. Notice that he has no Relic when he gets back up. He went down again moments after and we lost the run.

I cannot stress enough that no one had gone down until that point. So at best we were given three relics one for each person

So exactly, how the hell does the condition work? Are you given one Relic each and maybe two more if you find them through the level? Didn't it use to give five relics per person? What happened?

Just bought the Salamander melta rifle

First pic is how much damage I dealt to a neurothrope after emptying all my melta ammo on it. Second pic is how much damage I dealt after emptying all my HBP (dmg version) ammo on it. Both time I started with a pristine, brand new, full hp neuro btw.

Why are melta weapons this weak ? Why is my secondary weapon more damaging while having way better ammo economy than my main gun ?

Now I remember why I pretty much never used melta weapons even after 900 hours playing the game... They're great for clearing minoris. Any foe beyond minoris level will be more damaged if you agressively whisper in their ears.
