Some of you will never be happy.

This looks like the best performance patch we might ever get and you’re still downvoting it.

Edit: look I’m not here to doughnut hole for AH I have my issues especially after that AMA, but isn’t this one of the biggest concerns people had (besides progression)

But it had been 0.2 nano seconds and you haven’t even read the patch notes and these cretins are already crying.

At least read it first?

Optimizing Liberty - Incoming Patch: 27th May

>Original post on Steam

Upscaling support coming soon to Helldivers 2!

Greetings Helldivers,

In our last blog, we talked about improving how we communicate with you, and that commitment continues here! We’re focused on being clearer, more consistent, and giving you better visibility into what’s coming and why.

We’re excited to announce a new set of technical improvements, deploying May 27th. In collaboration with our partners at Nixxes, this release brings a range of long-awaited updates across all platforms.

Every frame counts when the pressure is on. This update focuses on three primary pillars: stability, latency reduction, and advanced upscaling technologies - helping ensure performance stays consistent, even in the most demanding moments.

Upscaling Support

We heard you.

To ensure maximum visual clarity without sacrificing performance, we have integrated the latest upscaling solutions tailored to your specific hardware.

  • PC
    • FSR (High-End): 4.0.3 (on supported GPUs)
    • FSR 3.1.5, DLSS 4.5, and XeSS 3.0 support.
  • PS5 Pro
    • PSSR 1
  • PS5
    • FSR 3.1
  • Xbox
    • FSR 3.1

Advanced Visual Optimizations

Beyond resolution, we are introducing several features to smooth out your gameplay experience and optimize GPU workload.

  • Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)
    • Now supported for PS5 and PS5 Pro to reduce any potential stuttering from V-Sync without screen tearing on supported displays.
  • Variable Rate Shading (VRS)
    • This technology intelligently reduces shading rates in certain areas of the image, decreasing GPU load while maintaining visual quality where it matters.
  • Dynamic Resolution Scaling (DRS)
    • Integrated for both PS5, Xbox Series X and PC to maintain stable frame rates during more graphically demanding scenarios.
    • Increased resolution to 1440p in the “Performance” preset on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as the “Quality” preset on PS5 Power Saving Mode.

Reduced Latency for Split-Second Reactions

Responsiveness is critical during tense battles, and we’ve worked with hardware partners to reduce input latency.

  • NVIDIA Reflex: Now available for users with NVIDIA GPUs to sharpen responsiveness.
  • AMD Anti-Lag 2: Fully supported for AMD GPU users to ensure your inputs are registered instantly.

This update, along with additional fixes, will drop on May 27, 2026.

But we’re not stopping there, Helldivers. This is just the opening salvo in an ongoing campaign to improve performance across the fleet. Following this release, we’ll be closely monitoring all platforms and hardware configurations, keeping a sharp eye out for anything that needs tuning, and deploying further adjustments as required. We’re also preparing a dedicated tech-focused update later this summer to push these improvements even further.

With our friends at Nixxes dropping onto the battlefield as our backup, we're committing to make diving with your friends better and better. And keep the feedback coming, Helldivers, it's the key to helping us shape the future of the game.

See you all on the battlefield.

A stratagem idea: A light tank that needs two crew members to operate

Not long ago someone came up with an idea for a two-seater quad bike stratagem and I absolutely loved that idea. I think it would be just as cool if a tank stratagem followed the same design philosophy. Sorry if something like this has been suggested before.

I imagine this tank would look something like the high-survavability test vehicle prototype, because it is very futuristic. It would require a commander/gunner and a driver to operate. Keep in mind, this is just a rough idea, so stats are far from perfect.

In terms of weaponry, it would have:

  • A semi-automatic autocannon with the same damage(450 ballistic + 150 explosive), fire rate(160 RPM) and penetration(AP5) as the autocannon sentry. 150 rounds of ammunition.
  • A heavy MG identical to the one utilized by the Bastion tank. 1 500 rounds of ammunition.

As for armour and mobility, it would have medium armour just like the Bastion, but it would have less total HP of 6 000(The Bastion has 8 000). And it would be significantly faster, in terms of both top speed and traverse rate.

And finally, I think the cooldown would be fair at 600 seconds.

Overall, the most obvious advantage of this tank would be the rotational turret. I think having only two crew members is also nice. It enables half the team to do objectives while the other half operates a formidable machine defending against priority enemies. Alternatively, it is plausible to operate two such tanks simultaneously, if need be. Techincally all of that can already be done using the Bastion, but since it is defenseless from sides and rear, it makes things super awkward. One big flaw I can see in a stratagem like this is that people might begin relying on it too much. Helldivers is not a vehicular combat game...

But what do you think?

Anyone else getting infinite wind after explosions?

After an explosion, the strong wind effect becomes permanent. This is especially annoying in jungle biomes, where the bent trees completely block your vision, while moving through dense vegetation. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I already reported it to Arrowhead and they said they’re looking into it. I’m posting here because I couldn’t find anyone describing this bug, so maybe someone else has experienced it or found a workaround.

Kudos to Arrowhead

The announcement of implementing new upscaling tech and anti-lag technology is definitely a win for both consumers and developers.

I am excited for the last message too.

PLEASE add the option to disband lobbies

Players have been asking for this since they game released, the only options right now are either leaving the game or kicking your fellow divers one by one.

The new cyberstan update is so fun😁

I just got back in the game after a few months and I gotta say this new cyberstan update is so much fun! I’m loving the new Bastion tank and Vox engine too!

What do you think about these guns?

They're all my favorites. I love 2-in-1 guns, but two of them struggle with the current content.

-Stonker: Decent since warbond release, nothing to complain.(My favorite kid)

-One-Two: Poor ergonomics and a low grenade count. You can't effectively play a grenadier role with only 4 grenades. The crossbow and eruptor perform similar functions but are better overall. The grenade mode is more of a utility. If you only plan to use the gun mode only, other weapons are much better. I used it simply because I love the M16 with grenade launcher in Vietnam. Every time I see Helldivers using armor with a lot of 40mm crabs around their body, it pisses me off!

-Halt: Spread, fire rate, damage(flechettes) are bad. New shotguns just destroy the competition. I sometimes use it in stun mode only, then finish enemies off with a support weapon.

What do you think about their current state?

(It seems no one is complaining about how difficult it is to switch mode like my previous post. Let's gatekeep the secret on how to fast switch modes to make it better. These guns are best when everyone ignore it.)

What Enemies Should Be Rebalanced?

For me it's the Leviathans, with one simple change.

Making them never despawn and limiting them to a set number of 2 per mission.

1 will always spawn, then 10 minutes later, another will.

This makes killing them actually feel satisfying instead of getting them near-death and having them run off and despawn, being replaced by another one 5 minutes later.

Why Can You Move While Firing the Cremator but Not the Minigun?

Not being able to move at all while firing the Minigun feels like way too big of a disadvantage and honestly makes the weapon feel unnecessarily restrictive sometimes.

I get that some people would say it’s for balance because of the Minigun’s high damage output, but the Cremator also does massive damage and still lets you move while firing.

So I’ve always wondered why the Minigun is treated so differently.

Comparing MO to Non-MO Squid diver numbers is always so funny

Bots and bugs seem to always have at least one section above a minimum of a thousand players compared to the usual dozen or so on one planet fighting illuminate. If not for MOs I dont think anyone would actually fight the Illuminate when I personally prefer them over fighting bugs lmao
