Hey dentists of Reddit! a little help would be appreciated. I went to the dentist today and had a very deep cavity that looked like its right up against the nerve. He was going to fill it but said there is a 50/50 chance I may need a root canal in the future. This happened to me once before and the pain was excruciating so I'm a little scared to go through that again. Thinking of just opting to get the root canal right away especially because I have dental coverage that will be expiring in June. Thoughts?
