I started playing tennis last summer and, being a bit of an introvert, I found it tough to just walk up to people on the court to find a match. I eventually joined a 2.5–3.0 beginner singles league, thinking I’d finally find my rhythm.
Instead, I got my butt handed to me every single week. It felt like everyone had been playing for 2-3 years but the process for increasing USTA rank seems like it is too much for casual players. After a season of not winning a single match, I decided to build a solution. I’ve been working on an app called NxtPoint. It’s designed to help us find players at our actual skill level using skill-based matchmaking and real-time rating updates. No more guessing if a "3.0" is actually a "3.0."
I’m launching it in Atlanta (restricted to US Market only for now) and would love for this community to try it out. It’s built by a player, for players.
