Poor Spectrum is in a “no win” type situation.

Poor Spectrum they’re in a no win type situation with upgrading their DOCSIS network. Customers are leaving like crazy. When they do any type of maintenance people complain and leave. The parts where high split is currently enabled, people complain about internet issues, and leave.

I asked Raleigh tech why haven’t they did high split yet: he said his supervisor is hesitant about it, because people are switching away from Spectrum in droves, they have to do a lot of equipment replacing and a lot of work he says. That will cause more downtime and maintenance windows which the people do not like.

I mean I kind of understand I mean I personally don’t understand why high split is such a big deal, like it only brings better upload speeds right? I mean don’t get me wrong 35mbps upload in the year 2026 is kind of crazy, but at the same time like is it worth for spectrum to spend the time and money upgrading their network for that?, when is it time to say ok DOCSIS should be replaced at some point.

I also don’t understand why the hell would they cough up billions of dollars to buy another legacy cable provider.

Is it just me or since I updated to 5.2.0 uploading/seeding is so slow? Can only do like 10 to 60 KB/s? I go immediately back to 5.1.4, and it’s like within 1 minute I go easily to 15MB/s upload!!

Nothing in my setup has changed, yes got port forwarding is working perfectly verified! also not using any private trackers, and I made sure all the trackers were contacted.

I mean it’s been now an hour since I started qBittorrent 5.2.0 and still only at this very moment max upload is 40KB/s?
And now just went back to 5.1.4 within 1 minute we at 3MB/s??

At this point I see clearly why people stay on old ass versions of qBittorrent. Did the big corporations compromise Arvid Norberg (maintainer of libtorrent) (joke)

If anyone is wondering I’m using the qBittorrent 5.2.0 with libtorrent 2.0.x version, not the one with the old libtorrent 1.2. Can’t wait for libtorrent 2.1 to come out; I think it has better read and write speeds.
I use the libtorrent 2.0.x version also for 5.1.4 so whatever the change between 2.0.11+git195f94d4a1 to 2.0.12+gitfa2f95785e broke something for me I guess only????

It’s just this one right? https://github.com/BiglySoftware/BiglyBT-plugin-xmwebui

Looks so bad…, it looks like the code is transmissions web ui from 10 years ago. Wonder how hard it would be to update the base, (aka take current transmission web ui and back port it to biglybt)

I would love to switch to BiglyBT from qBitTorrent however the current bare bones web ui is a deal breaker for me.
