New Modems?

New Modems?

I'm a Spectrum Business customer, so I have to use their modems. I currently have the ES2251.

I saw this picture on the residential internet page of what looks like a new model, but no sign of it in the business page and there's no mention of it anywhere in the Support documentation anywhere.

Does anyone here know what this is, model number, release date, etc?

Cellular Data getting significantly worse

My phone went into S.O.S mode (No service) about a month and a half ago and ever since my cellular data has been significantly worse.

Visually i’m always at 4-5 Bars 5G and even in areas with worse signal/service i’ll be at least 4-5 Bars LTE.

Despite that, it’s been taking apps (smaller than even a gigabyte) 15 minutes to download, and a bare minimum of 5 minutes to even open comment sections on social media.

I’ve tried, Fully turning my phone on and off.
I’ve tried, turning my data on and off.

I have a iPhone 16 Pro Max (No damage) and am always up to date with payments on the phone and cellular plan.

Spectrum cable tiles like a MF. What gives?

The cable signal at my mom's house is straight up horrible. Every channel tiles/digitizes to some degree, it seems to do it more at night but that could just be because thats when she is watching TV the most. I have replaced the coax from the wall to the box with a brand new cable, made sure the connections were tight, I have replaced the HDMI cable from the box to the TV with a brand new high quality unit, and nothing seems to make a difference. I have reset the box, and i have done very stupid little thing that Spectrum tells us to do when we have an issue like this (checking the coax connection at the wall and box), i have unplugged the box to reboot it etc. Do any of you have any advice on how to combat this issue? (don't give me that "hurr durr why dont you just stream" crap, my mom is old and hates navigating streaming menus and simply wants what she PAYS for to work). I mean for almost $300 a month between cable TV and Internet, I expect a lot better picture than what she has been getting. hell, I can get better picture with a set of cheap rabbit ears and my dad's Directv satellite NEVER has any picture distortion or tiling. Are there coax filters that can help this issue? The box is only 2 or 3 years old. Let me know what ya'll think and if any of you have dealt with this issue. thanks

Internet services go down for hours on nearly a daily basis

I am so SICK of paying an arm and a leg for a service that goes down 6-9 hours a day. At this point it is a part time internet service. I am going to look into filing a lawsuit against Spectrum.

I will NEVER use Spectrum again

A brief warning, they are a SUBSCRIPTION based service, even as a month to month service. Meaning, if you cancel your services after 1 day in a monthly billing cycle, you pay for the whole month. And none of their staff will tell you that you will still owe that money for the month. Even if you return the equipment to the store and see a human being.

I have not had a single good experience with this company. The person (an employee selling the product) who was meant to help get internet to my apartment decided to sign me up for extra services after I was clear, direct, and specific about what I wanted. I had to fight to change my bill (first bill fight). I received a cable box I never asked for and the technician said I had to return it, that he couldn't just keep it. Thanks for the chore. After fighting about the bill a second time months later, I was offered a lower price to stay as a customer. I wish I had switched.

My big issue. I am being charged for a full month after using less than 5/30 days. And after asking for a prorated amount for only the time I used, because they can see exactly when I turned in my equipment, I am being denied and told to pay the full amount as they run on a subscription based model and I signed the terms of service.

At the end of the day, ill probably fork over the money once it gets to collections since its "my fault" and i want them to have to pay more than its worth to get the money they don't deserve. But I'm hoping this warning goes out to anyone who might not know that this company sucks and I'm sorry if its your only option.

ETA: Only people who knew this was a subscription based service comment and then act like know it alls when Im just trying to spread information that wasnt clear to me due to my poor experience with using the company and the employees within it. Yall some die hard spectrum fans, go deeper and harder babes 😉

Upgrade last nigh - intermitten service now

I got a notificaiton of an upgrade being done this week (I got excited thinking High Split). Last night internet went down a 11 and I got an email stating "The network upgrade work we previously notified you about has started. It will allow you to get the most from your Spectrum Internet by improving the network quality in your area." It said 11 PM - 8 AM but could be done faster. Well, internet came back on around 7:30 AM and back off. It has constantly been up and down all day. It only goes down for a few seconds but it is long enough to kick me out of all my sessions for work. I added a screenshot of all the "failovers" to my Starlink (only on a standby plan so basically useless for work) after a longer outage. Contacted support and all they will do is send out a tech Friday. My in-laws live basically next door and have the same issues I have contacted Spectrum and they have a tech comming tomorrow. The neighbor is having the same issue and I have tried to get her to call and complain too. How may complaints do they have to have for an area before they will concider it more of a priority issue? (NC - COAX - All houses with issues on same line after the "upgrade". - No rain and been very dry)

They added TV services without permission

They added the TV services since February through may. I didn’t authorize I don’t watch TV everything is on streaming now. I didn’t realize it was on autopay. I pay $106 for gig speed. Has anyone gotten this issue fix will they give me credit or what

How can I get Spectrum to come into my neighborhood? They are in parts of my city already.

My current 1Gig internet provider is upsetting many in the area. Too pricey. The reverse of TJ Maxx.... The minimum for the maximum. $124 p/mo for a Gig. They are literally 1 city block away from me. Lots of apartments... lots of upset BuckeyeBroadband customers. They could make a mint. What can me and my community do to get them in my neighborhood? They are nearby now.

Upgraded wifi and it got.. worse???

We had advanced wifi a couple of months ago for a brief period of time and when I went on vacation and left the house to my mom, she had lowered the speed (100mbps..). A couple of days ago I “upgraded” back to 1000mbps and brought the old router to a spectrum store near me to swap. I had everything put in the box including the wires but she had me open the box and give her the router and keep the old wires.. I was a bit confused but took them anyway (the only new wire the new router came with was the power plug)

Fast forward a couple days later to now, the wifi keeps randomly slowing down and disconnecting from my phone(s) and my iPad. But it’s even WORSE on the ps5🫩🫩🫩 the connection keeps failing after “connecting” and when it does eventually connect.. it’s not connected it all. I tried restoring data on it twice and turning it off for a long while and turning it back on and it’s still the same issue. Also, it’s still 2G.. not sure if there is a difference or anything but the network remained the same after “upgrading”.

A technician should be here today though. $90+ for this stuff is genuinely insane I’m gonna need to look into more providers bc I’m tired of my ping suddenly rising and dropping in rivals and I’m kicked 😭

getting told 2 different things

so I had asked one of the spectrum employees from their official Twitter and forms page about high split upgrades in my area and the person from Twitter said between May 20 and June 3 there will be upgrades being done in my area and to expect outages, but I never received an email about it from spectrum and the person on the forms page said there is no scheduled work for the next couple weeks, so I don’t know which do I believe? should I call them too and ask?

FUCK Spectrum

I canceled my service with spectrum on November 14, 2025. I had a new internet provider install internet (at more than half the monthly price) the following day November 15, 2025. I called Spectrum that day and paid the remaining balance on my account for November. I returned all of my devices to the spectrum store and from there assumed all was well. Then I started getting text messages that I had an unpaid balance. I tried calling spectrum but because I no longer had an account, I could not access the automated service they provide using eff'ing AI. So... I did a bunch of googling and it seemed as though the texts were part of a scam going around so, I ignored it. Fast Forward 6 months when I receive a message from a collections agency telling me I owe $126. Immediately, I called Spectrum and waited on the line for over an hour to speak to a HUMAN in Billing, who explained to me that since the Spectrum Billing cycle ended on November 14 th and I paid it on November 15th - I was being charged for the month of December since the December billing cycle started on November 15th. WHAT?!?!?! Dude... being pissed doesn't come close to explaining how I feel right now. Charging me for a month of service that I didn't even use because I missed their billing cycle cut off by a couple of hours and the person I canceled my service with on the phone on November 15th didn't tell me this? FUCK SPECTRUM. I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this corrupt corporation. I now pay $54 a month for better connection and customer service than 15 years of SPECTRUM ever gave me. FUCK SPECTRUM

Is there really no relief now?

Just called into spectrum and talked with a "billing specialist" about my bill continuously increasing even though I'm on the cheapest cable plan of spectrum choice and have a slower internet as well to keep prices down. My year-long promotion ends at the end of this month and they said there is nothing they could offer and my bill would go up another $30. I asked for retentions and they said that doesn't exist anymore. They said if a billing specialist cannot offer a better rate than the next step is to disconnect. Is this really the case now after all these years of being a customer?

Should I upgrade my iPhone 14 to iPhone 17 pro or wait for 18?

I want to change my phone as the camera is too limited. I don't have any issue with it despite the camera really, but this is now reason enough for me to want to change.

At work I can take advantage of a Spectrum deal of $200 discount on the iPhone 17 plus and also they give me $116 for my iPhone 14. I can pay this in 3 years with no interest which I find is not a bad deal.

Should I take this or wait for a better deal on September with the new iPhone 18 release?

Friendly reminder about natural disasters

Spectrum has a clause in their TOS that states that disruption of services due to a natural disasters does not warrant outage credits or assistance of any kind. Outage credits are always optional. If you would like to see an example of how Spectrum reacts when a huge region experiences something like this, go ask Asheville, NC about what Spectrum did to them after Hurricane Helene.

The best thing to do if a natural disaster disrupts your service for more than 30 days is to flat out cancel it until you know that service can be reliably restored. Other wise, you *will* be charged for service that you are not receiving.

Hope this helps anyone who will go through a natural disaster this year!

App upgrades and cancelling.

My building got the tv package with the free apps. If I want to upgrade to the ad free versions I know I can use the spectrum app.

But if want to cancel back to the basic plan, am I able to do that from the app or would I have to call?

I have 100 meg internet with 10 devices on wifi. Added a Wyze camera and the feed stutters sometimes. Do I need to upgrade internet speed?

When I say camera stutters sometimes I mean the cars look like there skipping or they just disappear then reappear.

Mail server timing out again (twc.com)

OK. A week after it started it's happening again. The twc.com mail server (New York City) is timing out again repeatedly. This started yesterday and continues today. I don't know what it's going to take to get you people to fix this but it's not just annoying, it's making email use almost impossible. Platform is MacOS (Catalina). The galling thing is that Spectrum just raised my rate again. Is this the added value?
