Thoughts…

I’ve been dealing with the same issues everyone else has with the ineffectiveness of my Adderall. Beyond frustrating. Theres something that has been bouncing around in my head that I want to try to get feedback or ideas about. So if we’ve all been on something other than Adderall for some time, why have our bodies started to adjust to not taking it? Not that we don’t need it, but why does the low energy and exhaustion stick around for SO long? As someone who was diagnosed at 19, but wasn’t constantly falling asleep before that, I’d love to know why I still have no energy after 5 months of this!

What are we doing?

For the past five months (since the start of the year), I’ve been trying to figure out a way to stop paying thousands of dollars to take brand Adderall XR. I started on it because generic wasn’t as effective. I’ve been on a high dose for decades, and it gets quite expensive. After trying generic Adderall XR, and Mydayis, I’ve switched back to brand. The last generics were so bad that I took for two days and couldn’t finish it. I took my prescribed dose, and then an hour later couldn’t keep my eyes open and slept thru my 30 minute alarm for 2.5 hours. However, now that I am back to brand, it is just as bad if not worse than the generics😞. I have three young kids and literally zero motivation to even get out of my pajamas, my patience is shot, and I always have a dull headache. There HAS to be something that can be done. Any tips greatly appreciated.

Cost of Brand

I’ve been on a prescribed high dose of Adderall XR for decades, and it’s been quite expensive when I’ve used the brand name. I’ve been working with my physician, trying to find a more cost effective alternative for the last 5 months. I’ve tried a generic from a few different manufacturers, along with Mydayis, and it’s been absolutely horrible. I’d like to go back to brand Adderall XR, since that had been working so well for me, but with a high deductible family insurance plan, it was costing me $2000 for a 90 day supply 😳, and then almost $500 if I met my out of pocket deductible…and that was with insurance. Really hoping that someone might be able to suggest a more cost effective alternative that I can look into. Thanks so much.

Several pieces of laundry are smelling much worse after they’ve been washed and dried, and I’m not sure what to do about it. My husband deep cleaned the washer, but I’m not sure where it’s coming from or what to do about it. It’s most of my wardrobe (leggings, sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc.) Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Our puppy is a 7 month male mini golden doodle. He has a very sweet temperament and doesn’t bark a ton, picked up most of what we taught him rather quickly, and he has been a joyful addition to our family. However, I worry that we haven’t done a great job crate training him. He is our first puppy, so I’m kind of learning as we go. When he came to us at 8 weeks and one day old, he had never slept away from his mama and siblings. We crate him when we leave the house, and overnight. We walk him and make sure he pees and poops prior to putting him in his crate. Each night when we put him in his crate for the night, we have a white noise sound machine on and a blanket over his crate on three sides. He whines loudly, both at night and often when we put him in there to leave, and lately that has escalated to a bark, especially at night. This can last 30 minutes to an hour. He’s also been waking up and barking very early in the morning (around 4:30 AM, about 5-6 hours after he’s put to bed). I feel awful doing that to him, but with three young kids, and things left out at times, I don’t think he’s ready to be left unattended and worry he would choke or use the restroom in the house.

Is there anything I can try at this point to help him to become more comfortable in his crate? So far, I’ve tried giving him a treat each time he goes in. I’ve also tried feeding him his kibble in his crate (with the door open) to try to help him to form positive associations with the crate. He’s more of a grazer with his kibble, so not sure that helped much. Thanks for any suggestions.
