The fan following and parasocial relationship around Vijay was honestly intimidating. But one thing I noticed was too many young faces in TVK.
The way they speak and present themselves makes you think normal educated youngsters are finally entering politics.
Then I started reading their affidavits on Myneta. Few below:
N. Marie Wilson has 2 criminal cases and ₹9.38 cr assets.
Vignesh K has 2 criminal cases and ₹3.19 cr assets.
Kanimozhi Santhosh has ₹25+ cr assets. No doctor graduation but her sm says Dr. Kanimozhi.
Keerthana has a affidavit with 22lakh asset and comes with strong political grooming and links. Someone else from her constituency in reddit posted her father is a casteist leader and she worked in Prashant Kishore team.
Harish M has clean chit but 2 crore asset.
And many more with criminal cases. One of a lady candidate was charged for drunk and drive killing.
What surprised me is almost nobody seems to come from an actual normal middle class background. Huge land holdings, crores in assets, influence and backing everywhere. How do they all have so much money? Is wealth in crores normal?
You still seems to need power, money, influence, family background or all of the above.
And for people saying “these are just cases, not convictions”, check your own circle. Friends, colleagues, family, maybe 50 people. How many even have criminal cases filed against them?
In mine, zero.
