One year after keratin, my hair is dry, frizzy, and breaking — what should I do?
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice on how to repair my hair after a keratin treatment I had almost a year ago.
Over the past several months, my hair has become very dry, frizzy, and uneven. The ends are extremely thin and wispy, and there is a lot of breakage throughout the mid-lengths and around the crown. Some people initially thought my hair was naturally wavy, but the “waves” are actually due to breakage and damaged strands, which makes my hair look rough and unhealthy.
My hair is naturally thick at the roots, so the overall density is still good, but the lower lengths look sparse and damaged. I do not want to do any more heat-based or chemical salon treatments such as keratin, rebonding, or straightening.
My main goals are:
- Reduce breakage
- Make the ends look healthier and fuller
- Control frizz
- Restore smoothness without heat treatments
Has anyone experienced similar damage after keratin? What worked best for you? Would a significant trim plus bond repair treatments be enough, or is there anything else you would recommend?
Thank you so much!
P.S: I live in Bangladesh so please suggest accordingly
