Trying wavy hair methods, now losing hair

I posted a while back about crazy frizzy, frumpy hair and got some suggestions regarding wavy hair methods. I am trying those out, but now I am losing handfuls of hair every time I shower.
Previously I was using Rosemary/rice water shampoo and conditioner bars, and pretreating my hair with fermented rice water, which I have successfully used before to regrow hair. With this routine my hair was dry and frizzy but I didn’t lose much.
Now I am still doing these, but I am also using a leave-in conditioner (Odele), and either a mousse (Not your mom’s) or a curl cream (Marc Anthony). Once a week I do an overnight castor oil mask. Then I plop my hair for a bit and let it air dry the rest of the way.
The moisture and texture of my hair have improved some (though still frizzier and crazier than I’d like. But I am losing so much hair. Any ideas what would cause that and what to do about it? I can imagine losing some after a castor oil mask because it is so heavy, but I’m losing a lot of hair all week long. Any help is appreciated!

Need advice on how to look after my hair

I’m hair illiterate we’ll say, I don’t know what hair type I have or how to look after it and make it look nice, how to style it or what products it needs. I just want it to be healthy and not look like a scarecrows straw.

Edit:
I’m uk based for those recommending products

My solution to a rancid scalp

I’ve always had an oily scalp. Upon moving to a tropical climate, my scalp started smelling like cheese and the smell progressively got worse.

I lathered 2% ketocanazole shampoo on my scalp prior to taking a shower, letting it sit for 15 full minutes. I did this for five days and the smell is gone.

I tried everything, even the 2% ketocanazole shampoo, but I didn’t leave it on long enough.

Hope this helps.

Does washing your hair everyday weaken or dry the ends ?

Sorry in advance for tha faults, i'm not native english

When i was a teenager, i was washing my hair everyday and it was very pretty but also never very long. The ends always became very dry but i admit i didn't really know how to properly take care of it.

Then i tried to wash less often bc i was told it was bad so during a few years i washed it every four days. I've lost TONS of hair bc of this as my scalp was oily and in bad shape and so my hairs fell a lot.

Now i wash it 3 times a week but i have to use dry shampoo in between the wash to maintain the oilyness in control... i'm hesitating to wash it every day again but i'm afraid for my lenghth. I have the project to have very long hair, so i need to take care of the lenghth and i've read everywhere that's its bad for them if they are wet too often.

I have fine hair that are straight at the top and wavy at the bottom.

What's even the deal here? Looking for general info/advice

Might be a bit of a long one. I've never really done much with my hair routine-wise, so mostly I'm just looking for general insights into what it might appreciate and how I should actually be treating it.

A general history: I have always had a LOT of hair, I've had several hairdressers tell me I have enough for myself and half of someone else's head. It was very very light when I was little, and every picture I look at seems like it has the generic 'wavy/curly hair that no one knew how to deal with so it got brushed out everyday' look. I cut it short ~7y/o and it's been through MANY dye jobs since then, but all professional and I've never felt like it was damaged. In my early teens I would frequently get days where it just puffed up like crazy, somewhere between frizz and volume, but honestly I think that was the period of time when my hair felt the most consistently soft lol.

Now my hair is the longest it's been since I was tiny, and it confuses me everyday. Straight on top, sometimes wavy in the length, and frequently I get straight up curls underneath, especially if it's humid out. I don't really do much to it- wash on days when I sweat (which is most), condition if it feels too squeaky after shampoo, towel and then air dry. I'd rather go out with wet hair than fool with a haur dryer most of the time. It's rare that I even brush my hair these days, though I will run my hands through it a lot, and obviously of I get tangles I take care of them.

Texture is the part I'm most confused by. I've heard it called Irish curls, which always made sense to me because my family is very Irish, but I've also seen some people say that's just the result of not treating textured hair right? I'm honestly clueless, I just wanted to put out some feelers and see what people have to say, because at this point it feels like every time I shower I'm rolling the dice as to what my hair looks like once it dries.

Thanks!

Any advice on how to care and style my hair?

I have absolutely NO idea anymore what my hair type is. I'm 34 and always thought my hair was very straight, and always treated them as such. Since I leave them air drying much more now in summer, I started noticing the S-waves patterns in chunks. I tried this morning for the first time a wavy hair routine (shampoo+conditioner, comb, mousse, gel, scrunch) and then I dried them with blow drier (no diffuser since I don't own one). Results in pictures (third one is still wet, first two pictures are after drying my hair). Any advice? My hair is very heavy, though fine, because I have many of them and they are long! Should I just give up and going back to treating my hair as straight?

I need help with my hair pls

I always thought i had dead straight hair growing up but now I think my hair is starting to have some wave to it?? I usually resort to putting my hair up in a bun or claw clip bc my hair gets poofy when i brush it out and looks unkempt. Bc of that, idk if my hair looks slightly wavy bc of the indentations of having my hair put up in a bun. The first 3pics are what my hair looks like completely wet with no conditioner. The last2 pics are air dried after like 2 hours without brushing. Am i just delulu that my hair might be wavy lol

Seeking advice for new products to use on my hair (I shop at Walmart mainly!!!)

Hey all! So I am a natural redhead, never dyed my hair (other than like 2 money pieces in the front but they’re basically gone). I never use heat on my hair unless it’s a special occasion and that is rare. My hair is normally in a low pony tail (my daughter pulls it out lol). I feel like it’s dry and needs some better care. I use the shampoo and conditioner attached.

I wash my hair maybe 3x a week, every 2 days or so. But it does get oily fast! I use a build up remover shampoo (Kristen Ess) once a week.

Any suggestions? I want my hair longer and I want it to look more shiny and glossy!!!!

I DO NOT GET HAIR TRIMS REGULARLY.

I do not want to do the AY method, as I am not interested.

Products for perm-damaged hair

For context, in late January I got a straight perm, and then in early June I impulsively got a digital perm which I ended up hating and tried to wash out as soon as I got home (not the smartest idea I know).

My hair is naturally wavy and very frizz prone, so now what I’m left with is wavy frizzy hair that is also breaking a lot closeish to the roots (I can see the broken hairs sticking up at the top of my head).

The products I’m using right now are the &honey melty moist shampoo, unove conditioner and the fino hair mask (I interchange the conditioner and mask every wash). I also use the wow colour dream coat heat protectant, but I’m not sure if it’s actually working since I read it requires tension to activate and I’m not willing to put tension on my wet and already weak hair.

Are there any specific products I should use for my issue?

my hair wont grow back after getting layers (butterfly cut)

does anyone else regret that one haircut that not to be dramatic, completely shattered their confidence and i dont wanna speak into existence--but hair? what should i do?

guys layers genuinely ruined my hair, its been 6 months since i got my haircut, and i dont see a visible difference in any length or blending together. if anything i feel like it just looks more awkward. i have this rat tail, and my hair was hip length now who knows, just layers everywhere and it touches my waist (and thats the longest part). she completely messed it up, i wanted the longest section to be most of my hair, but the longest section is approximately one third of it. two thirds (meant to be face framing pieces and maybe some extra strands) are drastically shorter. theyre past my chest but look significantly shorter than the longest piece. it all just looks damaged, and like a rat tail. im acc grieving ik its not that deep, but i also have iron deficiency and traction alopecia, so my length overcompensated before the cut. now its thin and volumeless, plus this cut. my hair was my best quality now its sooo mid i cant believe how one haircut did this. i loved my hair my entire life, and it was such a part of my confidence, my most complimented feature:( i knew that even tho i had other insecurities i could rely on my hair. nope. not anymore. im so upset and angry. like no offence she had one job. ughhh. it just looks so awkward. went from flowy to awkward. btw like i said my hairs thin and also dryyyy so in combination with it all im just so upset and i never got used to it i just become more sad. esp when i wanna wear a specfic dress or get glammed up i think abt my old hair and how much better it is.

Any solutions to prevent hair loss and encourage hair growth?

I heard that minoxidil is the best solution, any brands suggestion? Or perhaps tips? I'm practically thinning and I'd love nothing more than to preserve my long hair.

Finally liking my color again, but my ends keep giving me attitude

I’m in that weird stage where I actually like my hair color for once, but the ends are still humbling me every time I dry it. My roots and mids look fine, then the last few inches get that rough feeling once everything is fully drying down. Not crispy exactly, just not soft in the way I expected after doing a careful routine. I use leave in, try not to rub it with a towel, and I don’t blast it on the hottest setting. Still, the ends kind of announce themselves lol.

I’m trying to figure out if this is just normal for processed hair, or if my technique is secretly making it worse. Do you usually treat rough ends as a trim sign, a moisture sign, or a “you dried it wrong” sign?

This is not working on my hair

Looking for a new shampoo. I’ve been trying the Abby Young method and unfortunately this duo is not working on my hair. It feels dryer and gets tangle more easily. I have fine straight/a little wavy hair. I used to use Pureology hydrate shampoo (purple bottle) but I was looking for a less expensive alternative.

Don’t mind my stains on my shirt🫪

Seeking help for my very bushy naturally dry hair.

This is my air dried hair after a wash with Dove intense repair shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioner. No other products. Recently trimmed my hair maybe a month ago. I’m aware it’s wavy, I do style that way when going out with mousse and gel. I just hate that this is what it looks like completely natural. I’ve never bleached it, I’ve only used box dye to amplify the ginger a few times.

Frizzy long hair, what should I do apart from straightening?

Hi! I have no Idea what should I do with my hair... I don't have much money (I'm an uni student) and I really want to take care of my hair. Colour is natural so they shouldn't be damaged from any colouring or anything, I only trim the ends at the hairdresser.

The first photo shows my hair after waking up and brushing them. They are all frizzy, even when I use keratin dry conditioner and hair silk. They only thing that helps is straightening with straightener (second photo) but they are still kinda frizzy. I have no idea what to do. I use normal shampoo, conditioner and keratin mask two times a week.

I don't want to damage them with heat but I have to, my job requires good looking, not tied, hair (I'm in customer service where I have to look presentable, at least).

Can anyone help me with them? What kind of routine should I use? I love having long hair but at the same time, it's a nightmare 😭

Seeking hair product recommendations!!

Hi! I am looking for any hair product recommendations. I have always had slight waves in my hair, but recently it has been more prominent. I will get a lot of really wavey pieces underneath my hair. I’m wondering if there are any products to recommend to bring out my waves more. I’d say my hair type is fine, more on the higher porosity side. Any tips would be appreciated, as I usually just use basic shampoo/conditioner and have no idea where to start. Thank you :) !
