How to cope with a botched haircut?

I cried and I’m kind of in solution mode now. Because if I keep crying I’ll never get out of this hole. Basically I have been ill for 3 years, lost huge amounts of hair. Treatment started 1 year ago and my hair was slowly growing back. Has taken so long to get some sort of hair back and I was finally feeling happy with my hair.

I got a haircut Monday just to take the dead ends and shape my front. I clearly explained to the stylist that my hair is quite fine and to not put excessive layers. She clearly didn’t listen and has cut chunks from my hair. I don’t understand how people like this can call themselves hairdressers. My 10 year old nephew could do a better job.

How do people cope with this? I feel so ugly. It has taken 2-3 years to get my hair back slowly and she’s gone and ruined it all.

Do I need to try style it better? Accept it’s ugly and wear a hairclip? Get a little fake extension bun to tie my hair up?

I attached a photo at the end of my hair on Sunday (one day before she butchered it).

TIA

Mental health/depression/psych symptoms

What are your psych symptoms from bartonella/lyme/babesia? Or mood issues? Does anybody experience anhedonia/depression?
I’m trying to differentiate if the depressive symptoms are from the infections/treatment/herxing *or* if I’m genuinely suffering from actual depression from being ill for so long. How do you differentiate?

Dublin - last minute/one day clothes alterations?

I do this EVERY time, such a last minute person and I never learn haha. Nobody to blame but myself! But still gonna chance my arm and see does anybody know places that do clothes alterations and could have it back in a day? Willing to pay more for speedy turnaround and also willing to go anywhere around Dublin!

Of course I have an event Sunday and I find a dress today to wear that would need to be taken in. F*ck my life hahaha if you don’t laugh you’ll cry.

Thank you!

Seriously, what bread do ye eat? I need a nice brown/wholemeal one (not from the shelf).

Ok I don’t have notions! But I have just proven my own theory. White processed stuff isn’t filling me up. Bare with me now on this:

I was eating white ciabattas or bagels (from the shelf area) in the morning with an omelette. Used to find myself hungry within 2-3 hours! Sometimes felt I could actually eat 2 bagels because I’d finish one and wouldn’t feel full at all.

Last week I did a test, bought the Rye sourdough from Dunnes Bakery and had it with my usual omelette. I swear I was able to go 4-5 hours without thinking of food. Only problem is, didn’t like the taste of Rye at all.

On the hunt for something more palatable. Lidl bread from the bakery is full of processed stuff just like the shelf stuff. Any breads you’ve tried (wholemeal/grain/rye/fiber etc) that aren’t processed and keep you full? I see Dunnes have a high fiber loaf and cob?

I’m clearly getting old talking about this stuff 🥲

Which sewing machine would you get for a complete beginner?

F,30. Single and childfree! Decided this is gonna be my new hobby 🥰 I guess a lot to learn so any recommendations on where to start would be an added help.

Which sewing machine would you choose? It’s for altering clothes and maybe redesigning old tops or dresses.

Thank you❤️

Have you realised sometimes paying more for quality is worth it?

I’m starting to appreciate paying a bit more for quality (not everything, cost of living crisis is real and I don’t have notions).
But an example - 2 weeks ago I paid €2.99 for the brown sourdough in Lidl. Sliced it and sure enough it was full of holes inside and honestly half of it was thrown out. Tasted chewy or something. Also found out that it’s not even “real” sourdough in the ingredients.
Last week, as a test, I tried the organic Dunnes sourdough for €3.99. My god. The difference. None of the big holes in the slices and then found out that it actually is “real” sourdough and has no fillers/weird ingredients in it. I’m sold. Actually kept me full for hours no joke I think because of the proper ingredients and no processed crap in it!

The same has happened me with some Lidl fruit, it tastes so bland. Getting fruit in Tesco/Dunnes is actually worth the extra penny.

Anybody have these realisations? What product did you notice? Whether big things or small things.

Haha crazy Saturday night chats, you know you’re getting older when you’re discussing the price and quality of bread on a weekend night jaysus 😅

2015 golf tsi “oil change in 600km”

I am so bad with cars… no men to ask in my life either 😅
Car service is booked for 3 weeks time. Can’t do sooner because mechanic is on hols and fully booked, then I am on hols. The car will be driven for the next 2 out of 3 weeks.

When I turn on my car it’s giving me notifications that the oil change is due in 600km. It started at 1000km. I’ll probably drive 300km in the 2 weeks.

Is this bad? Should I be using a different mechanic to get it seen sooner?

I’m so sorry if this is a stupid question, genuinely have no idea! Thanks

Anybody know ingredients in brown sourdough from the bakery?

I know the bread isn’t like buying from a fresh local bakery however convenience and cost come into play.
Curious to see the ingredients and if it’s UPF

I added a link to the bread I am talking about:

LIB Mexico - does anybody else find René is a catch?

For some reason, I think René is such a catch. He’s hot AF and he seemed infatuated with Irais , calling her his princess and wanting to continue with her even when they didn’t marry.

I understand his situation with his sisters seems a bit toxic and enmeshed. Other than that, I don’t see the red flags?? Am I the problem 😅😅

Detox methods

Need to up my detox regime as my body needs support. I only do vitamin C, castor oil packs and lemon water. Chlorella/charcoal as needed when I herx badly.

I’m thinking of adding:
Infrared sauna bag
Coffee enemas (or glutathione supplements)?
At home red light therapy

I might not add all depending on the feedback I get. Has anybody any experiences? What you like or what has been helpful?

Anybody else gotten styes/chalazion during treatment?

I was bitten 10 years ago and eye symptoms were actually one of my first symptoms.
I’m in treatment now (took 8.5 years to get diagnosed). Since treatment started last summer I have had 4 styes. My eye symptoms are regularly fluctuating, some days I genuinely look terminally ill.
Hazy, inflamed, dead eyes. I recently had a neuroherx and this week I have another stye. Starting to think it’s not all coincidental.

Anybody else?
(Positive for Lyme, Bartonella and babesia. Mold free)

Does anybody else’s eyes reflect their systemic state?

Almost like the eyes worsen when systemic symptoms worsen or flare? example, I don’t know what has flared me. I did an hour walk in the sun yesterday (but that has never flared me before?) Who knows. Treatment is bumpy I guess (I’m spiralling about CFS as we speak😅).

Positive for Lyme strains x3, Bartonella and babesia.

I felt eye pain starting yesterday evening when I was relaxing in the sun after my walk. Sometimes I wonder if it’s histamine? I don’t know if anybody really knows to be honest.

This morning I have woken up so foggy. Like drunk. No thoughts. Can’t make decisions. Just sitting dissociated with fog and DPDR. It’s not even sleepiness just pure fog. I feel poisoned all over my body. And my eyes reflect this - they are red, hazy, dull, purple circles, sunken look. I look like somebody who is really ill.

Interestingly, eye issues started for me after I was bitten. I’m starting to really see a pattern now since I have started treatment where my eyes flare badly when there’s something systemically going on.

Anybody else relate?

Edited to add: my mold tests were negative and I live in a mold free apartment!

I feel like I have found my home here! BTW Is there anybody here from Ireland?

This could potentially be inappropriate to post seeing if anybody is Irish but I’m just curious to meet like minded women! I’m 30, Irish.

I had no idea this movement existed and oh my gosh I don’t know how I went so long without knowing. I agree with everything. Thank you universe because I feel so understood wow.

Are there any books you have read on this journey? Advice you would give? Tips? Anything?

I can’t put into words how amazing it is for me to meet likeminded women. Thanks for having me here!❤️🫂
